I expected to see a lot more Dwarf stars mentioned since only lazy poons use stars.

They're to lazy to answer.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Jural wrote: Ooh, and The Chaos Dwarf guy zzzzZharg is very useful. Not so much for the Hail Mary Pass, but more because of the Strength 4, Block, and very low price. He can really dominate a drive.
He doesn't have Block, he has Tackle. Otherwise he would be so so so cheap.

As it is, with Surehands & ST4 he makes an interesting ball carrier for a cage.

I think Setekh, Zara & the Count are top picks.

But Zara is nasty on a Dwarf team. Really fills in some gaps.

Count Luther.... What do you say Buggrit!!

Best star player in the game IMHO "Varag" (used to be anyway!!) or "Griff" but you ve got to consider "Puggy" everyone loves a trier!!
And no i dont use any of the above (no human/orc/halfling teams at present) altho i feel strangey drawn towards Flings.... maybe a body shape thing!!

count luthor vandross is certainly at the top of the tree when it comes to star players but there are some good bargains to be hunted.

the orc chainsaw guy ugroth bolgrot, really is very cost efficient. 70k which is cheaper than the human equivalent (helmut wulf) is cheap as chips. especially when he's still av 9.

fungus is always good for a drive. just wind him up and watch him go.

lastly eldril is a very solid choice for an elf team.

For knocking down people around the guy that fails to catch the bomb, Yes. But with AG2 the chances of them catching one is fairly remote (okay, so perhaps not remote, but lower than most other teams, and as a result I'm less likely to have the bomb relobbed at one of my players)
