Side Step is better than Stand Firm for players with Frenzy, I'd agree.

BUT

Stand Firm works better for players with Jump Up in PBeM where the tool picks the square for you.

AND

Dodge + Stand Firm beats Side Step plus a normal skill.

so

I would go for Dodge, with Stand Firm for a next skill pick.
