I have played Pro-Elves under LRB5, giving all the Catchers Dodge/Wrestle/Tackle (well, those that got that far, anyway). It was devastatingly good. Especially the one that got +1AG.

Now I've just started a High Elf team in LRB6. Although a superficial look at the teams suggest they should play similarly to Pro-Elves, I find that they play very differently. They are less reliable in both offense and in counter-attack (because of no Nerves of Steel). Accordingly, they play much longer, more sedate and messy (scrambled) drives, rather than the more "surgical" strikes of the Pro-Elves (or even Woodies).

Out of 4 skill-ups, the team has had two stat increases: +1AV on a Lino, and +1ST on a Thrower. Now I know very well that Kick and Strong Arm may well be more effective and more orthodox choices, but I couldn't resist the fluffiness of it all. And our league is a bit Orc heavy.

So now I am set to go down the "hard" route, with +ST and +AV whenever I get the chance (rather than doubles or +MA). Probably highly inefficent in TV terms, but irresistible in terms of sport.

But I digress - I'm really telling you all this to give some background to my views on Block vs. Wrestle for HE linos. Because I plan to take Wrestle on all 4 Catchers, I am intending to take Block on the Linos in preference. Block is better for causing damage (looks to me as though HEs can get into long drives, whether they like it or not) and Block is also a better skill on an escort (cage corner).

Hope this helps.
