I have two witches, one with lots of skills

Witch 1: Block, Side Step, Tackle, Mighty Blow & Wrestle

Witch 2: Wrestle, Side Step & Tackle (going for Dauntless next)

I use them as ""blitzers"", blitzing everytime I can with them. Then move out of blocking square.

With Wrestle I go hunting for the ball carrier.

Wrestle is also very good as defence becuse of Jump-Up (no loss of movement).

Tie up opponents players with lineman and blitzers.

If you have a deep enough bench, you can always keep the second witch in reserve. Bring her out when you have a numerical advantage, and feel it's worth the risk for SPP.

But overall, I agree: without block, they're terrible. There's nothing wrong with waiting until the 1st one is skilled up before buying #2.

As most of you advised I took Witch Elf and RR and managed to both win and keep team intact. Right now team looks like:

As a new DE coach I will appreciate advices regarding team development and tactics (League, 15+ games)

Team is:
Blitzer Block, Dodge 6 spp
Blitzer Block, Dodge, Tackle 21 spp
Blitzer Block, +MA 10 spp
Blitzer Block, Dodge 6 spp
Runner Dump-off, Sure hands 7 spp
Lineman Block 6 spp
Lineman Block 9 spp
Lineman Block 13 spp
Lineman +AG 7 spp
Lineman Block, Kick 16 spp
Witch Frenzy, Dodge, JU 3 spp
140k
3 RR
appo, AC, FF 5

Three blitzers get advancment (normal skills only) so I took 2xdodge and 1 tackle.

My next games are against: Undead (new) and then old teams Orcs, Humans, Norse, DElves, DElves, Nurgle, Humans, Nurgle

New teams have around 6 games played and old ones are in game for about 24+ games (1 or 2 seasons)

What is your opinion for my next purchase? RR or Player - which one? Lino, Assasin, Runner or WE?
Did I make mistake in taking tackle over SS for blitzer #2 (mostly I did it as my next opponent has 6+ Blodge players)

No tackle is good and he is close to third skill, then take side step.

Overall you have good spreading on the team for spp and skills. Good luck!

Gotta be the second witch elf. Skill them up as quick as possible with touchdowns. As for skills, how much tackle is there in your league? I'd get dodge on all of your players. Great for mobility and will make it difficult for your opponents if they only have one or two tacklers.

Try to get about 3 instances of SS between at least one lino and up to 2 Blitzers. SS/Blodge Blitzers are a great way to keep your Runners and Witches intact, and to control the tempo of the game (critical for a ST3 team without MA8 players). That said, when facing multiple Dodge, it's hard to go wrong with Tackle.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

You probably want to take some Wrestle on some player without block. Witches or Linos. Follow that by Tackle or Strip Ball (depending on if you face lots of dodge or sure hands ball carriers). I like those skills on the Witches because of Frenzy (for the two hits on the ball carrier) and because of Jump Up (no loss of movement when using wrestle).

And aside from the few wrestlers, I like to have as many blodgers as possible. And Side Step after that to a bunch of them. Makes your team extremely mobile on offence and on defence. In my experience with DEs, as they are not as fast as other elves, don't have dedicated passers and catchers, and don't have access to strength skills, I try to maximize their mobility.

As one opponent once told me: This is like trying to hold water.
