Worst game?

PubBowler at the Monkeybowl. He's a git (I kid, Dave:lol:)

There WAS a guy in my local store once who cheated, a lot (extra movement, standing a guy up a square away from where he was sat down, moving a player twice, that sort of thing). Every time he cheated, I called him on it, and every time I called him, he threw a tantrum.

I got halfway through his 2nd turn before quitting, telling him politely that I wasn't quite in the mood to play goblins, and that I DEFINITELY wasn't in the mood to put up with him.

If you're looking for my worst score, I played with Lizards against Ironjaws Skaven at the Poo bowl this year. 2-1 down by half time, and quite fancied my chances as I was recieving next. Game ended 6-1

I thoroughly enjoyed that game though, so wouldn't call it a bad one...

I'd have to say that it was the first game of BB I ever played, about 2 years ago. Buddy of mine introduced me to the game. He had played a few dozen games at least (having run through a season).

I read the rules, but as you all know, reading and playing to learn how things really work are very different.

He took a Dwarf Team and gave me Elves. Remember, having not played before, I was not good at figuring out how to set up passes, when to dodge, or generally, how to play. The dwarves battered the crap out of my elves. By the end of the first half I had 4 players on the pitch and was down 3-0. It got worse as it went. Almost turned me off to the game.

Happily, I got over it.

Some friend huh?

One game in my league (I think I've mentioned this in 2 other posts, on TBB) Vamps Vs Undead.

Undead completely removed the Vamps from the pitch 9 Cas 3 KO's.

Undead Lost Game 2-0 :smoking:

I would of loved to have watched that game, with 2 turns left in the game Ghould was sprinting to get a TD in, fails a GFI, Cas'd lol.

My first game, first attempted TD, involved the "Grassy Knoll" theory of touchdown denial:

Orc blitzer "gfi's" into the endzone and dies.... :o

And still I play on....

I lost 4-0 to Dark Elves with my High Elves last week. Bad times.

Lictor,

I actually think that he just wasn't thinking about how he was setting up that game. He is a good friend, and I game with him weekly to this day.

But that all said, it was sort of annoying. :)

I can't remember for sure if it was a 3rd of blood bowl or necromunda, but I killed one of my oponnents players/gangers and the guy jumped over the table and started punching me. There was no warning, no arguement before it, just started punching me in the face. I was bloody before I even knew what was going on, we fought through the house and I managed to push him out the door. He cut my ear and bloodied my lip, and I got a small scar on my forhead from it.

I was in college at the time, and the guy was a coworker at the pizza place I worked at. I think he was like 24ish I was 20 at the time. I never saw him again, he never showed back up for work. My guess is he likely ended up in prison, or skipped town. Or maybe he avoided me because he was worried I would press charges.

THAT was my worst game ever.

We have a winner!

That's awful. My 18 failed KO rolls in one game, or mummy killing itself when blocking with the old 2+ regen don't compare.

I did get to keep his blood bowl set and his minatures, since he never came back for it. My dwarf team are his models for sure. It has been like 13 years so I'm not sure what all came from that, one of my blood bowl sets for sure.

Not on an hourly basis ... especially if they were well painted. The scar's annoying, but if it's small and you're a guy it's more of an issue that someone could have really been hurt (not to sound unsympathetic; taken enough beatings myself, thanks). But yeah, that still takes the cake.

Blood Bowl makes people crazy. I thwacked myself once playing BB after making (and getting clobbered by) a stupid mistake. I can't tell you how many weenie tantrums I've seen by otherwise reasonable people playing this game. Even other progression games like Necromunda don't do that, though the progression is part of it. I think it's really a symptom of how great this game is, but it's frustrating. I'm about to go into a fixed-schedule regular season in a league full of rookies, and I know I'm going to get 5 or 6 more war stories to add to the pile.

Nothing wrong with 40k, it's just a different sort of game.

Personally, never had a 'terrible' game of Blood Bowl. I mean I get hammered regularly, and I've lost all bar one of my games (seriously), but I always have fun regardless.

Played HE versus killing Chaos Team... On first turn he was receiving and get 3 of my players out (BH, SI and Dead) and that streak contiued. I started 2nd half with 6 players and by turn 3 had only 4 left. I have had some slight chances to blitz his ball carrier and try some long pass for 2:2 score and I asked one of my friends what he would do... And I received one of the best advices: "Ermh as my old pa used to say - u must learn when it is time to give up" :D
Anyway I tried this hero action, failed a roll and get pummeled... Game finished 2:1 but he cripled my team totaly. Sometimes you just can not fight against 10+ rolls
