Are wizards useful or not? Opinions sought

My next match with my Chaos team is against an Orc team with team rating about 2 or 3 points higher, and with 80,000 in the bank I've been seriously considering freebooting a wizard as I think this will be a tough game. Up until now I thought it was a pretty good idea, but I'm not so sure anymore , I could freeboot Borak or Grashnak instead and spend all my treasury, what do you guys think? I thought with his 5 AG 2 players(4 BO + 1 Ogre), a well placed wizard's fireball could be game winning.

A well placed lightning bolt, zap or fireball should be able to save 1 td. Givern that the scores in BB are often tight this can often the difference between winning or not. 50k is well worth it for crucial games.
