But as per the rules Norse Lineman do not have Block and are 10K cheaper so they are just light armored normal human lineman. Sure you could then afford the 2 ulfwerener and snow troll but they also will not have block and frenzy with no block is turnover waiting to happen.SillySod wrote:Heheh, norse would be evil.
The list writes itself... Linemen, Troll, other stuff. Liberally paste with MB

Except none of the linemen would have Block. So that would be a team of Hobgoblins. To your taste I know Peter, but hardly evil.SillySod wrote:Heheh, norse would be evil.

I must say that I'm not really seeing how this team would work (my guess would be that you forgot that linos lose Block). Norse have 6 positionals with Block, but they cost a lot due to other stuff. If you take all 6, there'd be money for just 11 players (if you want to take the troll) and 3 rerolls. Worst of all is that MB is a normal skill roll for only the Blitzers.SillySod wrote:Heheh, norse would be evil.

You guys tricked meTuernRedvenom wrote:I'm thinking wood elves or skaven. So little block means little attrition and lots of turnovers! Plus they have positionals that do start with block and dodge.
All bashy teams are pretty much screwed since they cannot get guard nor extra block at all.

Hobgoblins are evil anyway. They pick their noses with malice.

I would definitely go with the full dodge Wood Elf Team Tuern suggested earlier (In fact, I have played with that roster since 2003)
2 Wardancers
4 Catchers
5 Linemen
1 RR
1 Catcher with Sure Hands 20k
1 Catcher with Sidestep 20k
1 Catcher with Sidestep 20k
1 Wardancer with Tackle 20k
1 Wardancer with Strip Ball+AG 60k (You know you want to)

Damn! I missed that part at the beginning! I thought norse was the obvious choice!eriochrome wrote:But as per the rules Norse Lineman do not have Block and are 10K cheaper so they are just light armored normal human lineman. I still think that Norse would do very well, as even though the linemen do not have Block anymore, the fact remains that the team will have a lot more Block on the team than any other. Block skill rules.
For the team I would go with Sillysod's suggestion and go with a liberal sprinkling of MB, and add Piling On onto the beserkers.
A team might look like this:
Basic team:
2 x Beserkers 180K
2 x Runners 180K
2 x Throwers 140K
2 x Ulfwerner 220K
4 x Linemen 160K
2 X RR 120K
Total - 1000K
Advances:
Beserkers - MB, Piling On
Ulfwerners - MB
Runners - Frenzy, Tackle
Thrower - 1 w. Sure Hands
* That would be a total of 6 players (half the team) has block.
* 6 players on the team have frenzy giving you ample oppotunities for crowd pushing, and general mayhem.
* The Frenzy/Tackle combo (with their starting block skill) on the runners would give Gutter runners and other catcher types nightmares!
* 4 of the players have mighty blow to help even the casualty score which is important given your low armour.
* The Mighty Blow/Piling On/Jump Up combination on the Beserkers is murder! I have been on the receiving end of that one many time - it ain't pretty!
Sounds like a fun tourney - keep us posted with how it went!
