Some times you need multiple scorers to get the position.

The games we play has a lot of ball movement.

I'm going to have to visit another club and see how they play.
The defence is not covering the entire width of the pitch, so you should be able to get through somewhere by blocking and blitzing, and then walking through. Also as to scorers in position... any catcher 2 squares into the opposing half is in scoring range, more squares means less rolls. You could for example build a loose cage just inside the opponents half, with the forward linos within 9 squares of the endzone, and some catchers in it (preferably one with the ball), this should make it fairly straightforward to score with someone. Add a catcher or two on the other side of the pitch in scoring range, and you could, if forced to, easily walk around the back of the opposing line, hand off, or quick pass to those catchers and score with them...

It's almost criminally easy to score with WE's, you shoud focus on getting the ball loose on the opponents drive (which is why Doubleskulls would opt for the sweeper role for the S4 Thrower).

I beg to differ.

WE have it easy against some coaches.

However the league I'm playing in they are beginning to adapt. All Elves (and Skaven) are now seeing deeper defences.

Smart Coaches who but their tough players on the wings.

Sidesteppers and stand firm helps, along with block and wrestle.

ST4 is handy in earlier games but it won't last as Woodie is all about ball control and not block control.

In our league my WE has won 10:10, there is a new small tournie up and I can see the defence line against me is getting harder to crack. So the ball hangs back for the pass and score. My main thrower is hoping to pick up Safe Throw on next increase.

I've seen some games being played and just thought who are these jokers. But I guess they will improve over time.

I seldom run the ball across the line, almost always preferring to drop back for a TD pass. And yet I hardly ever find myself making any pass that isn't Quick or Short.

I'd hire another Thrower and build this guy as if he were a lino with P access, using Pass just to ensure he develops into the skills he needs, and also to make him a distribution-option. After Dodge at 16 SPP, I'd be looking at Nerves of Steel, so I could man-mark with him and still distribute the ball.
