Agree with Carnis. But the saw is not your primary ballcarrier no matter what. He's just carrying on the one offensive drive, which is normally when you spread the love anyway, right?

In defense of the rostered SWs -
I like them because you can skill them up to your tastes - Leap on the Chainsaw as has already been mentioned. If you're really lucky, you get Block on your Fanatic (or Trolls) or Hail Mary on the Bomber. If not? Sack 'em and try again. Keeps your TV down as a bonus.
I also like the 'cluster' offense - both Trolls, Fanatic and Looney right up the middle of the pitch with streams of Goblins trailing behind and the ball safely tucked in the Pogo's hands somewhere in the middle. The Trolls provide protection for the Blitzing Chainsaw (especially with Guard) and the Fanatic is much more reliable in a crowd than people think. Pick your direction wisely and even if he hits your own guys, you still get to pick. Hitting Goblins is better than the Trolls because 3 dice gives you more options and chances to get that push or dodgestar and save that Gobbo from getting smeared by the ball and chain. The Fanatic should never be out in the open and should never get 2-die blocked by your opponent...unless it's your choice.
MY Gobbos have the opposite problem - they've skilled well (LOTS of doubles) and survived but now the TV is high enough (150s) that I no longer get inducements for bribes. That means the SWs really have to perform while on the pitch and, more often than not, they have.
Except the Bomber. He either blows himself up or misses completely. But he is a single SPP from a skill - Hail Mary Pass of sack!
Keep us posted on your Goblin adventures and don't give up on the little cheaters!

A stray thought from me:
It is common to use the saw on offense, to get 8 turns of mayhem from him.
However, I recommend using him on defense. Why?
Well, gobbo teams can easily succumb to the classic 2-1 stomp. Gobbos are pretty squishy after all.
If your saw is on the pitch, perhaps an 8 turn stall will look less appealing.
(Naturally, if you have a bribe, you can do both
)

I have to agree that HMP on the bomber is hilariously good fun but would mention that it's worth taking Grab on the Fanatic if you don't roll doubles for his first skill as it really helps set up three-in-a-row for the next block.
I agree about then sacking him and starting again if he doesn't get Block at 6 or 16SPP (and Accurate's a godsend to cancel out Stunty if you're prepared to give your bomber two chances to roll a double for HMP).
