I haven't played vampires, but wouldn't 3 sure hand players be total overkill? Sidestep and diving tackle would be much more annoying imo. Or what about guard? Is that a big no-no with vamps?
No. Guard is great with vamps. With the build he already has and the type of game he seems to play with his skill selection to date, I tried to help out.

Maybe Vamps 5 and 6 should be more like this:

Dodge, Guard, Jump up, Block, Fend or
Dodge, Guard, Block, Jump up, Fend

They would primarily be used to move and gaze. Opening up disgusting holes in the opposing line at will. Combined with some wrestling thralls. (shudder)

Overkill on Sure Hands? The thrower, and two catcher types have it late in their development. How's that overkill?
If your thralls are striping the ball and there's lots of tackle zones around, you'll need the extra rerolls.

Those are 6 x 76 SPP vampires he's planning ;).

For me, just having a single Block/Dodge/Tackle vamp has been tremendous.

I imagine a higher level vampire team would have a role for each player, something like this:

Blodge/Tackle/MB
Blodge/Tackle/Frenzy
Blodge/Pro/SS
Blodge/Pro/SS

My thralls have 1 Dp, a bunch of guards and block on the rest. Wrestle would be nice, but I haven't really got any non-double thralls lately. Filling a team with 6 vamps & say 5 rerolls will lead to huge team value.

Hello all...OP here.

Just played another game with the vamp team, and the vamps currently stand at....

Vamp 1: Blodge, Sidestep, (+normal)
Vamp 2: Blodge, Leap
Vamp 3: Blodge, Frenzy
Vamp 4: Blodge, Sidestep, Tackle

Do I go with Catch, Tackle, or something else on #1?

The game went very poorly for the rookie undead team, and I also managed to gain 2 wrestle Thralls, along with a kick Thrall. Next up is either another wrestle or DP to keep some of the bashier teams off me....just waiting for this str-broke thrall to roll over already :P .

I would probably guard that vamp up, I don't rate catch very highly on a team like this, because you should not build one dedicated catcher on such a team, but instead be opportunistic with all your vamps and even thralls to score.

Pro might also be a good choise to reroll the blood lust and hypno gaze (that I assume you use this player for a lot).
