By the way, the FUMBBL LRB 6 game was just one I picked at random for testing. It could be good or bad, but I only watched it enough to see that it worked.

The Chaos player is okay; very traditional Zig kind of defense, relatively clean caging, maybe a bit too sideline-happy. He exercised admirable patience with ball delivery, waiting for the front to form before defining the cage; I thought part of that was the failure of the defensive rush, caused by early turnover and a too-risky TTM attempt. Part of this is just the difficulty of holding down a Chaos team when they lock you out for a turn, because they can deliver the ball to anybody, like super-strong (and sort of clumsy) elves. For all its lack of horsepower, the Chaos list presents a lot to like.

The Pact guy is too much of a risk-taker for my blood, but I guess that's why he was playing Pact. Turned over a couple times doing stuff I wouldn't have done, got away with some stuff I wouldn't have tried (I will admit I didn't check to see if the elf was AG5/Dodge, which would have made it reasonable); a little too free with Piling On (maybe it's just that I don't like that skill), failed to take maximum advantage of a Quick Snap. Very bloody first half. Didn't watch the last five or six turns.

The Pact coach liked a very compact defensive front, ceding the wide zones in exchange for protecting a couple more players. I'm finding that those "stacked-box" kind of defenses are a nice go-to against teams that live on their ground-games.

@ nazgob

Thanks for that link. I got into BB after LRB4 so never got into fumbbl, but knew there was a LRB5/6 client in development there.

It looks very cool and has more features than the one available on stuntyleeg (probably due to the designer halting development). I tried looking but got tired in the fumbbl forums, is there any expected date for it to come out of beta? Will it be fully LRB6? Another gripe I have with the stuntyleeg client is that it's 99% LRB6, but there are just a couple of things that didn't get changed before the development was halted by GW.

Here's the list of missing skills from the new client:
Skills still missing: (9 of 75 total)

- ANIMOSITY
- BALL AND CHAIN
- BOMBARDIER
- FAN FAVOURITE
- HAIL MARY PASS
- KICK OFF RETURN
- MULTIPLE BLOCK
- NURGLES ROT
- PASS BLOCK
That's not too much and allows playing with most teams. Goblins are obviously shafted. But the rest of those skills don't really inhibit playing too much, especially at early stage teams. I don't think there's a definite release date yet but the client works very well already.

I've played about 10 games with the new client, one of which couldn't be completed due to the client freezing up. Turns out that bug was already known and even fixed but the fix hadn't been released yet. Just as well as I was down 0-1 and had 5 players left at the start of the second half. Funny really, but not being able to complete just one game out of ten is incidentally a better rate than my experience with the Cyanide game.

Matt, actually now that you mention the box defence set-up, I've seen that quite a few times on those 10 games I've played recently on Fumbbl. My guess is that it's part of the accepted "best practice" in Fumbbl but could be wrong.

Yes, as opposed to an "air game."

Thanks for the info Ullis. The stuntyleeg client has almost all of those, so I won't start playing on fumbbl yet, but have joined and will try to pay attention to whenever the client gets finished.
