If I get '10', if it is not on a movement piece then I give it armour.
AV7 to 8 is a big deal.
MA8 and catch... give it the MA9
Throwers and catchers don't need the armour. The rest do. Even if picking it up to AV9 for HE/DE it makes the buggers as hard as Chaos, Dwarves and Orcs. IIRC a 1:6 to break armour as opposed to 1:3.6.
Which elf team do you feel is, overall, the best?

My stato friend said going from av7 to av8 is the best value increase in dice it effects
Right woodies are amazing early and DE better late on. So woodies at all points are the 'best' for me. But considering a league is long term you might conclude perpetual De is my answer from that logic.
I enjoy playing all four. All four are pretty great but pro are typically worse under normal conditions I argue. I have taken 2x+av on woodies and it's awesome. I have taken av9 de which was not aewesome
I wrote a long post on DE without throwing skills on another thread and certainly think DE have a wider difference than the other 3 elves. The lack of ma or pass skills forces me to run and defend with more contact. Huge difference in how I play them which after all makes this sort of thread fun

Still, I don't think AV+1 should be taken until it's the third level-up or later. Block/Wrestle & Dodge seem much more valuable, and I suspect will generally be far more effective in keeping the player safe (harder to knock down) than the +AV without the skill protection would yield.
3x Lineman with Wrestle/Block & Dodge and +AV would be splendid, be it any of the elven linemen. Of course, my LOS lineman rarely seem to make it to a second, let alone a third, skill

I have tried experiments with taking +AV on HE and DE Linos as an early skill. It did not work well, and I am now satisfied that normal skills are quite a bit better.

line i'd go wrestle/dodge and wrestle dauntless, then sidestep/dodge. Wrestle is fun for elves.
