I'd also take skill set (a) but I'd drop Stand Firm on the Beast and give the 3rd Warrior Block.

I feel the Beast is too good not to be given a skill. He is your greatest asset. The third Warrior will be on the LoS on defense, with 2 rookie Rotters (that's the way I set up, anyway). It won't make much difference if he doesn't have Block. Bear in mind you can give 3 dice blocks to the Beast sometimes to reduce turnover risk.

Against bashing teams I put two Warriors + BoN on the LoS with the 3rd Warrior placed directly behind them. Reasoning is that I don't want to lose Rotters on turn 1 of the drive.

Against Skaven and Wood Elves all of this obviously changes.

Maybe just me but I prefer Rotters on the Los because I want my players who can hit (warriors) free to move about and hit things. Oh and smeborg's skill set a is better IMO, and 13 players isn't a waste for this team, same as Norse. Low av on the Rotters means there's going to be player turnover.

Mostly I don't worry over-much about the LoS on defense. I aim to stop my opponent behind the LoS.
