Nah - wild animal is far worse. 4+ to use a re-roll compared with 4+ to move...

I agree. If you are going to remove a nega-trait I would definitley go with Wild Animal over loner.
However, I would still definitely take block before doing either of those. With block you get a very reliable 2d blitzer and you don't have to worry about getting the assists for a 3d block.

Depends how you use him. My mino blitz's or blocks every turn so I'm only worried about the 1's

Re: 3rd Skill on a Minotaur
You're right...a mino should block or blitz every turn thus reducing his chance to fail a Wild Animal roll to 1/6 from 1/2. Now having said that, he is throwing block dice every turn and is likely to not be getting any assists therefore leading to mostly 2d blocks.
Now grated you have a higher probability of failing a Wild Animal roll than a 2d block, even without block. But the difference is close to negligible (I think it's about a 5% difference if I'm not mistaken). Plus, failing a Wild Animal roll doesn't cause a turnover OR a loss of tackle zones. But as we all know, failing a block does. If I remember correctly 2d blocks with block fail less than 3% of the time.
I guess to me block just seems like the more reliable choice.

Following that logic you could also dump loner, so he can use rerolls.

But you don't need to babysit and he keeps his zones. Really Stupid is MUCH worseChris wrote:Nah - wild animal is far worse. 4+ to use a re-roll compared with 4+ to move...

Re: 3rd Skill on a Minotaur
I delight in facing such mino's - it is relatively easy to get them out of position (if all else fails just lay on the floor) and they are going to fluff a blitz every so often. Fine if you are trying to kill the opposition, less useful though if you are trying to beat them and you are failing to carry them off the pitch in batches.Shortarse wrote:Depends how you use him. Heff - of course really stupid (and bonehead) are worse, but he doesn't have those traits

Re: 3rd Skill on a Minotaur
I think that depends on the team he's being used with, on a skaven team where I've a killer blitzer and a crazy gutter runner I don't want to waste my blitz just to improve my chances of getting the rat ogre in a decent position, I'd rather have bonehead or really stupid personally because I want to just move him so much of the time. On a team where the wild animal is a higher priority blitzer option then I agree wild animal is less painfull than the other negatraits.Heff wrote:But you don't need to babysit and he keeps his zones. There's an argument that I shouldn't waste the TV having the Rat Ogre on the team in the first place and I'd agree that it's more efficient without him, I just think he's part of the flavour of the team so should be there.

Re: 3rd Skill on a Minotaur
I'm not sure I'd use a Mino on a CDw team.
Since he needs double for mutations too he has such a small set of useful skills to choose from, and you've got two other players designed to be blitzers already.
In this case though I would take block.
