Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

The two most useful players on my Necromantic side passed away in the same game.
WILLOWGhoul 7 3 3 7 Block dodge Sure hands, 3tds 2 cas 3 mvps.
(she was a great runner) DINGO Wolf 8 3 3 7 Block, dodge, catch, frenzy, RSC.
3 tds 7 cas 1 mvp.
Both players picked up points in their last game, and willow would have got her next skill, dingo would have been 1 spp away.
How much do I like dirty players now?

My DE thrower died.
He had a short life.
First game: Good first Mid with leading by 2TD, second Mid: 2 fumbles..Lost the game against Trambi 2/3 and my thrower got hurt and missed the second game.
Second game which he wasnt here: 4/1 Victory.
Third Game with my thrower: victory 4/0, got accurate.
4th Game:2 pass Td, 1 Fumble, pushed into the crowed=>Died.
So 3 games;8 Comp,3 fumbles,1 injury for a game, and then dead.
I wasnt that upset od his death, too many fumbles to me...
Next One!!!
Let us all salute all the runners who died when going for it in the endzone.
Starting with Thor Renteff I, and followed by Thor Renteff II (Maybe it is more of a family matter?).
It seems that Norse catchers don't get the concept of "going for it".
Lets remember a nameless lineman in my local league. First game played in the league (not only for me but for the whole league). First block bam dead.
A little later in that game one of my catchers stands one square awya from the sideline with the ball inside a semi pocket, gets pushed back. Then a Dark Elfs rises from the ground inside my pocket and pushes him into the crowds. He gets killed by the 2000 Dark Elf fans. Well my 36 000 fans took care of them...
To add insult to the injury I had decided to play my first game without an apothecary (FF9 would be better), I bought him immediantly after. Have so far only used him twice against SIs.
I would also like to remember my Wood Elf catcher (3rd edition) Miniwieeni. He was truly the right stuff. Killed 3 players with his famous flying tackle (thrown by a Treeman) including Grashnak Blackhoof and Hthark the Unstoppable. He then got thrown into the fans...
Let's all hang our heads for the oh so stupid Jen Ittlewarts of the REBBL Skaven League.
Poor Jen did not realize that the rats of the Clan Eshin area consider an outstretched, open palm as a sign of weakness and surrender. And so, as he waved to the cheering crowd his last words were, "Is that a rock?"
Let's all hold our noses for the final passing of Kaky Daks, Goblin player of Da Maggot Scum. Having earned four skills to go along with his four permanent injuries (2 niggles, MA and AV decrease) he died the way he always played...horribly. Though he's Shite his last his stench will remain for weeks. Funeral services will be held in the TBBF bathrooms next week, trenchcoats will be optional.
Or to quote his last words: "AAAAuuuuggggggg....."

Even the Goblin coach gets a +1 to injury rolls! Ow!
You're right about Norse Catchers and GFIs to the end zone. Probalbility of death in this situation seems to be around 50%.
My son's beloved Catcher, Svensson P., of The Svenssons (what else?), was the player with the most SPPs in our mini-league. He died going for it to the end zone in about his third match - had he scored, he would have secured another skill advance.
My 12-year old daughter made a beautiful little cardboard gravestone (to fit a BB square), with the words "R.I.P. Svensson P., 15 SPPs."
Braincatcher, my ST 4 Block Dodge ghoul in FUMBBL, just passed away.
He rolled double skulls. I rerolled. He rolled double skulls again. Then he died.
The risk for that is slightly less than one in 6*6*6*6*2*6*6. That's about 1 in 100 000. But someday it's bound to happen - why not to my favourite ghoul?
Mike, I can actually beat that one. Three weeks ago, my 4 Str Orcish thrower died when a Saurus without block stood up and threw a 2 die at disadvantage block. My apothecary even failed.

Well, actually, that's just something like one in 9*3*6*6*6. That's about one in 10 000 - happen's every day!
Two of my most highly esteemed and loved players have recently passed away, so that in only two weeks I lost the better part of my offence:
