If a Skink's first skill roll is a double and you choose Dirty Player, his next skill should obviously be Sneaky Git. But until Sneaky Git is picked up he is still very useful vs the odd star player/big guy/key positional, especially considering that the high movement and Stunty/Dodge action gets the Skink anywhere he needs to be. And if the kick-off is ever "Get the Ref," the opposing caoch will put every effort into taking out said Skink or else he will pay dearly.

If I would choose DP, that is what I would do. However, I think there are better options for a Skink. ;)

Okay, so finally I got a skill for a saurii! :) Beating the hell out of two humans and getting a second MVP will get him block, but that is not the issue.

My kroxigor also made an advance, but here comes the problem. Only rolled 4+1 so no pro, no block...no of the obvious choices. I was thinking of getting him multiple block because most of the time he is standing next so many guys, so by just getting some assists he can score some nice blocks with mighty blow. Break Tackle is also an option, but I just don´t see him going around and chaning position that often...

Break Tackle is great on an Ogre, but a Krox is on a team full of potential BT'ers. Guard is good, and Multiple Block is good too... I kind of like Grab on a Lizzie team, as you always have a great place to put 'em.

I like Grab as well, but always after Guard for me. Makes it possible to get chain Blocks and put guys next to Sauri. The Krox needs to be in the thick of things. Break Tackle is for me something on the Sauri. If the Krox needs to move, he is not in the right place. /And if you like to blitz with hime I would go Juggernaut. Stand Firm is a very annoying next one after Guard.

Cheers!

With ST 5 it would almost be a shame not giving him Break Tackle. His prehensile tail can be invaluable in the right places.

I don't think I would take Guard, simply because of how easy it is to get on the Saurus, but it all depends on your prefered defensive line-ups. I like putting my Krox as one of the ends of the LOS 3 rather than in the center.

I see your point, you can make good use of the Tail somewhere else sometimes. My Sauri usually get Block, Break Tackle and other General skills before Guard, so having Guard on the Krox works well for me.

how will you use the krox?
If he will be blitzing or moving a lot then break tackle, if he's standing in the middle supporting the sauri the guard. Multiple block is moct use off the LOS and may help increase your cas, but is difficult to use to full advantage aside from that.

I usually hold him back and blitz in where I think the thick is, to keep as many of my opponents as possible busy.

Blitzing is for my Sauri. My Krox usually stands around keeping other guys occupied and possibly blocking at the end of my turn.

I'm guessing you blitz him into the thick of it, and once he is there he stays in the thick of it. If that's the case you won't get much use from break tackle.

My lizardmen are now 8-0-0 after a good game against humans.

Skills are now:

Saurus - break tackle, block
Saurus - block
Saurus - side step (guard hopefully coming soon)

skink - blodge
skink - sidestep, catch
skink - sidestep
skink - +1AG, pass block
skink - sure hands, side step

Seems to be working well for me!

Side Step on a Saurus ?

Don't get me wrong, it's a great skill, but Guard and Stand Firm would be nearly as effective as Side Step and Guard, and without the need for a double. I would have given him Dodge and go for Break Tackle next.

Well, with a 8-0-0 record, it probably doesn't matter. Your opponents don't play often against lizardmen I guess, or is it just superb coaching skill ? ;)

Exactly, and that is what I was thinking as well.
