These are the new Ogres you can order for a team.

My favorite Human starting roster is:

1 Thrower
2 Blitzers
1 Catcher
7 Lineman
4 Rerolls
6 FF

But I'm a risk taker...

:o The last thing I want to do is ruin my opponent's team and give the next person to play him an easy game.

The reason I like starting with an Ogre is that it takes him a while to skill up - especially if you are "lucky" and get a double 1st. Mine just took 10 games to get to his 2nd skill (Leader 1st, now Block).

With Piling On working the way it does, it's actually pretty easy to get the 2nd skill for a big guy.

True...I always choose piling on first, cause this will boost your big guy and soon he'll get the second skill roll.

ECBBL plays before Av roll and I didn't want to waste the double. Under normal rules I'd have taken PO before Block.

Ian, I understand why you did it, I just don't agree that it takes a while for the Ogre to skill up.

That would only leave you with 10 players.

With a 5 FF and 4 ST players and no block any decent coach here would cripple it in about 5 or 6 turns.
With no tackle, no dirty player and very little block? How? You'll have a hard time just puting the catchers down. Remember that this is a starting team, and meant to play against other starting teams.

Exactly! And that's what i'm always after when building up a team, the long term. That's why i said that high RR and high FF and the two most important factors when starting a new team.

Does that even work? AG3 is not AG4. I mean I fail too many dodges with AG4 I wouldn't like trying a stand off defence with an AG3 team.

As Dark Lord said, I don't think you'd ever get that team to work at the ECBBL - too many tackle happy coaches make human catcher go pop.
The fact that you have five team rerolls, and 12 skill rerolls, helps a lot. And playing like elves doesn't mean dodging all the time. My wood elves fight it out whenever the opportunity arises. Playing like elves means using the passing game to score in two turns everytime.

And like i said, people aren't gonna have tackle in their first game. By the time they have it, my catchers will have block.

How? Well, let's see. Just about any team out there starts with enough blitzers to get 2 dice, attacker's choice with block on every one of those catchers. And if they target them individually it's no prob to get 3 dice against.

And DP is hardly necessary to crunch one or two of them each half.

How do you intend stopping them scoring?

This is the best thing I've heard all day.
So you go up against a bashing team, receive the ball, score on turn 2, and then...what?

Duh? Try that on me or anybody else with half a year of Blood Bowl experience. Like I said, apparently nobody in your league, throws blocks or tries to injure players. You score in 2 turns on me and I have the ball for the rest of the game while I crush your tu-tu wearing Ag 4 pansies into the pitch. I'll win 2-1 and you'll be setting up 4 or 5 players for your next game.

Thanks, they are wonderful. BTW, is there any difference in statistics between the Ogre Blocker and Ogre Thrower?
