Yeah it certainly worked for Nethrag tonight , his tentacled Mino was a real pain for my woodelves as he basically creates a 9 square no go area - a pain when your trying to bust into a cage! And it even works on leap!
I like the fact it's a passive skill - the mino doesn't actually have to do anything succesfully in your turn, but he'll still give a dodgy opponant headaches.

Yup - as mark (nippy) said I gave it a go against his woodelves last monday and I was very impressed. Yes the mino can still fail the wild animal and cost me a blitz but with tentacles even if he fails his wild animal roll, as long as he's in a decent position he's still contributing quite a bit to the defence. It wasn't that he got to use his tentacles all that much it was the threat of it that prevented mark even trying to dodge past him. (the one time he tried it I failed my tentacles roll but he failed his dodge anyway lol.
Speaking of which I think we did it right but you roll for tentacles first and then if you fail roll for the dodge right? Rather than roll for the dodge and then decide to use tentacles?
It obviously wont be of such use against bashy teams but I was thinking I've got 4 S4 and a S5 guy and have more experience playing against them so I think I need the help against the agile teams. Anyway, tentacles may well have just saved the mino from the subs bench - excellent call fen.
So my team on monday was.
Mino - Tentacles
CW - Block
CW - Block
CW - Guard
CW
BM - Leader
BM - Tackle

3rr + Leader rr

I'm going to give it a go against a bashy team and maybe give my 4CW 7BM, 3 CW block, 1 CW guard, BM tackle and BM block (4rr 2CL 2AC) a go against the WE's again to see how much better the tentacles really was.

Played against a Tentacles, Tackle, Nurgle Warrior at the CCKO this weekend. What a pain. My GRs had trouble running away.
So I'm thinking that this could be a pretty good combo on Chaos Warriors as well for playing against high AG teams or lots of dodge players.
On the Mino, not sure that I'd pick tackle on doubles, but it really is a pain in combination with Tentacles.

tbh, tentacles on ST4 is only really efficent against ST2. So he's bound to be tough for gutter runners, but ST3 Elves have a better than even chance of escaping a ST4 Tentacle player in LRB5.
I'd rather use it on a minotaur (to pin ST3 and really choke up ST2), unless I was positive there would be a lot of ST2 players present in the tournament.
@Nethrag: Tentacles, then dodge roll.
