Next for 6/4/4/7 Blodge GS? Hmm... Frenzy, Strip Ball or Tackle, depending on who you're facing. On doubles, Leap.

What races are your opponents? More to the point, how much Dodge and Sure Hands do they have?

My team is the Seminary Devils!

I'm leaning towards the Frenzy Road at the moment...

The key thing for Elves is to be able to break through lines to score (relatively easy) and to knock the ball loose on defence to score again. Frenzy is a great skill, but may not really add much to your scoring chances.
I'm Amazons... Not Elves...

So that Blitzer is
6 4 4 7 Blodge
My mistake. I should try reading the whole post occaisionally. Leap and strip ball would still be very useful though. Problem would be dying from failed leaps and fouls. So it's up to you if you want to risk your best player in that way. Best skills might be side step on doubles, otherwise tackle, mighty blow or Frenzy would help out 'cus your team seems pretty bashy.

Give her Frenzy followed by tackle and mighty blow. That will make her a nice sweeper.

An other possibilitiy would be guard followed by sidestep, or standfirm.

I only looked at the team races and values, but several of those teams in the 140k-range don't have a guy who starts with SH. If none of them have one yet, or if most of them ignored SH, that increases the value of Strip Ball. There were also a bunch of teams that start Dodge players, so if you're very worried about those guys, Tackle or Frenzy is a good thing. No matter who you're facing, Leap works well with ST4/AG4; you can pop into a cage and lay down a 2d smack even if you can't get an assist!

For those of you who don't have time to peek,

I won my 8th game... so that makes me 7-0-1 with Amazons. A team I've never used before nor played against.

Last game was against Dwarves, now I have to admit that I gave away 440 in inducements but I was still a little worried.

I had visions of Dead nuns before the game. There were a few moments there where I couldn't crack the cage but eventually I managed to isolate his slayers with guard (forcing him to throw 2dBlocks in my favour) and make the holes I needed.

Game ended 3-0 but was close to 2-1 for a while there.

A good lesson for defensive coaches... Always leave a player within TD range. If forces your opponent to worry about you getting the ball free. I'd place a Linenun or Catcher 6 squares from the endzone and after each turn I'd touch her or say "I forgot to move this nun... Oh well, at least she is in TD range", or if I didn't suffer a Turn over I'd move her closer to the ball but still 6 MA from the end zone (making sure to count the 6 squares out loud)

Its a little bit of psychological warfare that works a treat. Your opponent will want to pull a player or two away from the ball to cover your threat and that means 1 or 2 less guys in the cage. If he doesn't cover them... Well you have a TD threat right there which aint bad either!

Your opponent will think, "If I screw this play, he'll score" and will throw less one dice hits and may even try to move the ball before he throws 2d hits??? Depends on the level of preassure you are applying!

BEWARE THE GIANT KILLER!

What is it about Blood Bowl that makes your apothecary fail every time you REALLY NEED THEM!!?!?!?!?!?!

Last game, Vs Breadfan & his Sanguine Lords of Giliad, I was kicking to him for the opening kick off and throw a rock comes up…

Not that bad…

The roll targets my Best player (Amazon Blitzer with +AG & +ST)…

Rotten bit o luck that but Oh well…

Injury roll is an 11!

Spew, but I can take it.

I say roll injury and he rolls 2d6 (He thought the first was Armour, he’s still a little new) and it comes up 11…

 “No Bready, roll d68”

Result = 52 (niggle)

Get out! The Game hasn’t started yet!!! This sucks!

Apoth Roll…. 63…

So I gotta play the rest of the game with no apoth…. ALL THIS BEFORE TURN ONE!!!

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

Well congrats to Bready... Maybe it was the hit to morale but I spent the rest of the half missing everything! Bread was beating me like a Drum!
He had me down 2-0 at the half and I just managed a lucky pass under coverage to get the game back to 2-2 by the end. I don't think anyone would have tipped him to win & he came away with a tie (very almost a win!!!)

:pissed: Hail to the Giant Killer!! :pissed:
He has yet to be beaten by the best coaches in our league despite playing for only a few months!

Always good to hear about newbies kicking ass. Sorry about your niggle, though.

LOL

Don't be sorry... He wasn't! :pissed:

He had Zug too and he got two Casualties against me too :x one was -AV

Then I kick off in the 2nd half on his turn 8 (I scored on mine) and his Poof thrower blitzes my linenun with Wrestle and kills her!

I killed his Ogre... BUT HIS APOTH WORKED! Well sort of... he's got one less MA now
