Don't forget the two skeletons who bravely assisted count luthor van drakenborg in bringing Fluffy down... he didn't do it all on his own!!glowworm wrote:It is my sad duty to report that "Fluffy" the snowtroll is no more, after a brief encounter with Count Luther (induced to play for my undead team) he has been removed from the roster on a perminent basis

They where Mummies!! no way my skeletons where going near that menace......
There where another 2 fatalities in this match, one of my wights (Barry) was dispatched as was one of the Norse girlies, however both MVPs went to surviving players (and yes my other Wight is called Jimmy!!)
And on a practical note by the time i play Bugritt in the league his new "pet" will no doubt have gained at least 1 upgrade.
Time to change my Sig block i think....

They were skellies, and I'll tell you for why...glowworm wrote:

Because both your mummies had used all 3 of their movement standing back up at the start of the turn and weren't anywhere close to Fluffy... necessitating the shambling of some skele's over to stick 2 more tackle zones on Fluffy before Luthor Von Dorkenburg blitzed him.
Fuzzy's now played 2 games against a human team and failed to cause any casualties/score SPP's of any kind in both games!!

You know how you have a pet and it dies and you think you need to go get another pet to fill the void you feel when what you really need is to mourn the loss of the 1st... That 2nd pet never quite fits right? You don't bond because it's not as good as the 1st. You rushed out to replace whats-his-name and you grabbed the first one you saw instead of waiting for the right one. Now you're stuck with a looser Snow Troll and the best you can hope for is a little luck. He's never going to feel the same and you're going to resent having to feed him and clean up after him till you end up euthanizing him.Buggrit wrote:

Is this where I get to tell you "I told you so"? ST6 is better defensively than getting block with ST5.Buggrit wrote:Maybe..... and well remembered. At the time I thoughtblock was a more important investment on the doubles roll (perhaps I should've gone with the extra +ST or even Dodge, lol!)stormmaster1 wrote:So a Vampire and 2 assists bring down fluffy, should he have taken ST7 after all??

Defensively, Block and Strength 5 is only slightly worse than Strength 6, just too many things in the game can break through the Strength 6 for even strength or advantage hits.datalorex wrote:Buggrit wrote:

BUT... Almost nothing beats Strength 7 defensively, it is nigh un-assailable. And even if an opponent does wish to devote considerable resources to assailing it, the odds are the rest of your team will score easy TD's or get huge hitting advantages of their own!
Strength 7 is also no slouch on offense, where 3 die hits are better at bringing down opponents than block and 2 die hits (70% vs. 75% or 56%) , and without too high of a turnover risk (3.7% vs 2.8%)

This was one of the original debates we had about Fuffy, and Buggrit wanted the comfort blanket of block. The main thing i think is the turnover risk, especially considering that a ST7 blocker may well still end up throwing 2D blocks against big guys and other high ST players. Easy to say he wouldn't have been killed by the vampire if he was ST7, but would he have been knocked over and fouled to death on both down results in an earlier game?? who knows.Jural wrote:datalorex wrote:Defensively, Block and Strength 5 is only slightly worse than Strength 6, just too many things in the game can break through the Strength 6 for even strength or advantage hits.Buggrit wrote:
