My Dwarves vs Wood Elves

I am completely baffled with how to do this. Have played vs this team twice in regular season and lost on both occasions. I know the key is ball control and that I need to go for the 2-1 win method. However, I was wondering if anyone has any other info they can give to help me out. My opponent usually sets up in an I-formation of sorts. We are using the kicking rules this season and the one-turn field goals make it very difficult for me to pull off the 2-1 victory. Any advice (as we are heading into semis) that anyone can give is much apprectiated.

Noteables about my team:
Runners (2) - 1 +1STR Tackle Block
- 1 +1 MA Tackle Block

TrollSlayers (2) - 1 Tackle

Blitzers (2) - bone stock

Longbeards (5) - 2 Guard

Typical woodelf makeup ..... block dodge leap all over. No treemen at all but the problem isn't my offense .... its how do you deal with his offense. I have tried the spacing to make him dodge more ... have also tried stacking the line. Seems like the 1 turn field goal or 2nd turn TD is just unstoppable with my speed

Your runners should be your safeties, use that Blockle.

Make sure they take the ball first.. let them score in two... you then score in 7 while killing as many as u can.. second half starts.. score in 8 while killing as many as you can :)

yeah that s a good one :)

Back to the topic, i ve played with my woodies against redfang ( not in league, it was in tourney) . At first sight, i had the feeling he was playing in a strange way, but then i really had troubel versus his defense :

He always had some longbeards deep, so i couldn t outspeed then, and didn t have too much people near the line, even his set up was really deep .

Now because you re in a league, i think the main preoccuâtion of the wood elves coach will be to avoid losing players . So play your full strenght, try to tie up his dodger with some tacklers, and make him burn rerolls, once he got no rerolls left he ll be in trouble .

Hit the weakest guys first (the one that don t have block) . Now that really depend on how deep is his bench .

Basic thing to realise against a properly executed wood elf offense is that it cannot be stopped. It might fail, though.

Essential thing is to force him to do as many of those darned 2+ rolls as possible, and hope that he fails. Having that much tackle should help.

When he starts, he's likely going to blow a hole somewhere and then run a number of receivers downfield. Tie them up, force them to dodge a lot to score.
Secondly, depending on whether he's a lonbomb or a hand-off coach:

1.Longbomb:
He has a good thrower, and aims to do a long pass to one of the receivers.
2.Handoff:
He uses the secondary line hanging around the LOS as a screen. One of them is going to receive a handoff and deliver the ball to the intended scorer.
Depending on which he uses, either crush the receivers, or try to make it hard for them to hand-off and run the ball.

Basic idea: try to make it even a moderately hard attempt to score. Then he's bound to fail every now and then. When he does, grab the ball and pound him to turf.

And use that Tackle!

that Blockle ST 4 runner seems like an ideal woodie hunter to me, just make sure, he has got some guards around him when it's your opponent's turn to block
