12 players and apoth is interesting,
You could try dropping the 12th guy for more gutter runners?
The dodge and the speed make them a pain, and can keep them out of trouble.

I've only played Skaven a little bit but I would recommend keeping the Apoth as it effectively represents a reserve Gutter Runner at a price that allows you to afford the 12th player as well.

I know Gutter Runners are very good but I wouldn't risk sacrificing the 12th man for them personally. Skaven do go squish awfully easy.

I agree - 3 gutter runners. You've got an apothecary and skaven speed allows you to overcome a numerical disadvantage on the field if/when it happens. having 3 GRs will be a NIGHTMARE for your opponents.

Just drop the apoth, and use the money on upgrading a lineman to a GR and increase your FF by the rest ;-)

apoth is better than extra lineman. you can use apoth whenever. and it can be used for any injury in a pinch...stun, ko, bh/si/death. Also for 50K you can save your pricier gr or sv.-------------pays for itself easily.

It's a good lineup. 12 players and apoth or 13 players is useful for a skaven player in a tournament situation. Reserves save you from being outmanned due to knockouts, apoths save your skilled players.

3 RRs is manditory.

I'd be inclined to go 2 SVs, 2 GRs. If you want 3 GRs I'd drop the 2nd SV as your whole playing style will change as a result of taking the extra GR.

I'd be comfortabble with this setup for tournament. 2 GR's is fine cause their ST2. I usually start with the same setup but 2 RR and 7 FF for regular season play and this is an effective setup. 12 guys and Apoth is definatly the way to go.

I started in a Ladder-System just recently with this setup:

--2* Stormvermin
--2* Gutterrunner
--1* Thrower
--1* Big Guy (Rat-Ogre)
--5* Linemen

--Apothecary
--2* Re-Rolls
--4* Fan-Factor

I only played a single game till now, but it worked out fine. The Rat-Ogre is great and the biggest fault at one time. He gives the team some x-tra Strength and a relative 'Safe-Side' where he stands.
His little fault is, that he has to go first every round. That's sometimes tricky and needs very good calculated moves.

The Apoth. is a must have, better than a Linemen in reserve, 'cause he has the same effects... instead of exchange a player who is out heal him and the opportunity to save your best man... maybe.

First Game vs. High-Elves 3:3
--->A good result and a good start in the Ladder-Ranking 'cause I didn't lost a single player. So bring 'em on, I'm ready!!!

You play the old rules right? Cause in the new ones the rat oger has NOT to block first. But his new disadvantages are even meaner read some other threads). He is crap now at least for tourney.
