Need feedback on how to build a DE team

Gents!
I'm sorry if it seems like a repost cause I know that some time ago there were a few post on how to create a DE team, but after searching for those posts and not finding any I kinda have no other choice but to post a new topic.
Could you please let me know what to start a DE team with?
I'm planning on a start FF of 9 I guess, 1 or 2 RRs, what about the rest though?
Thank you!

make sure you get your lino's develloped as early as possible. For long leagueplay 12 lino's FF9 and some RR might be the best, making sure all SPP's go to them in the beginning.
that said it's more fun to begin with a player that has some sort of edge so I'd allways put a WE or Blitzer in the team.
same as per High Elves actually, read bbmag 11

If you want FF9, then I'd be tempted to go for:
10 line-elves (700k)
1 blitzer (100k)
2 re-rolls (100k)
9 FF (90k)
10k in treasury to help buy apothecary after next match.

Yer i like this line up, gives you a player who can *blitz*
you could drop ff to 8 and use that 10k to buy a thrower instead of a lineman. I think thats what i did.

Someone said earlier that a DE team is good enough without a thrower or just as good without one in the begining for the first few matches, meaning that I should get a trower later on, is that so?

I started with 3 Blitzers and 8 line-elves and i am doing pretty good.
(just entered the semifinals for the finalcup of our league, including Grotemuis, Dave, RedFang and other locals here on TBB)
I must say i was a bit lucky with the numbers of doubles i have thrown.
in hindsight i must say i would have gotten 2
But basically it is all about the length of your league. You will lose the first few games probably. Movement 6 and no hitting power all over will make life hard for you in the start, i only started winning after i got some speed to make use of my AG4. That is after i bought my 5th M7 player

I would leave getting a thrower until after you have got all four blitzers and your two witch-elves. You don't have any out-and-out catcher types and will have to run the ball quite a lot anyway, plus all your players have AG4 so can pass without too much difficulty (probably worth sticking to quick passes on the whole, but with a quick pass and a hand-off there is not too much difficulty moving the ball from one end of the pitch to the other when needed).

I basically built up a strong arm accurate thrower with safe throw, and so have developed a nice passing game with some ag5 blitzers, built up the four blitzers and liners before getting a witch, which has taken 12 games, although for the first few they were heavily running the ball.

If you are set on FF 9 then go with the 1 Blitzer 10 Line roster, unfortunately your first opponent is going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at that Blitzer.
The favorite right now is 2 Blitzers, 9 Linelves, 2 RR's and 7 FF, right now.

As much as I hate to agree with the majority this is the best I've seen and worked great for me in league play.
Just remember the blitzers are the cream of the DE team's crop. I wouldn't buy a thrower right away or at all.

Ok I am in a very short league (8 Games) with some funny FF rules (D3 on riot and pitch invasion and get ff for good sportsmanship). Most of the teams are very bashy but I am "taking one for the team" to give us some variety. As such I was thinking of going with a pretty radical list that has worked well so far in Fumbbl.
4 Blitzers
7 Line Elfs
2 RR
1 FF
Let me know what you think of this list for this situation.

my advice is what not to do...
dont start with less than 7ff u will not get enough income for players.
dont use WE to catch with spread throwing game.
dont undervalue linemen with ag4 then block and dodge.
dont forget to gain experience even if losing 2-0 vs bashy teams early on.
dont wait for a st4 or ag5 it may never happen
dont forget they got the best figs

Sounds good in theory, i do like the Frenzy on Witchelves a lot though. Having 1 WE will make your opponent set up a lot differently...with holes on the side...

4 blitzers look great but not at the cost of having a 1 FF. If you go with this I hope it works out for you, but I don't recomend it.

The most successful DE setup I had was
2 Blitzer
9 Line Elf
2 Reroll
7 Fan Factor
They started out pretty solid with some early wins against experienced teams and I was lucky enough not to take too many permanent injuries.
