Need new tactics for Skaven team

I'm in an eight-game losing streak against one of my friends who plays DE and has a minotaur (house rules) and at least two or three other players with four strength.

I have two GR, one thrower, two SV, a RO, a mummy (again, house rules), and seven LR. On offence, I use my mummy and RO to put holes in the wide zones for my GRs to run through. I will usually follow them with at least two LRs to keep them from getting cluster raped. This works well enough, and I can usually score in the second or third turn of my run. On defence, though, I get screwed. It's nothing for him to break my line and get several of his players onto my side. Most of his players can outrun my mummy and RO, and he always has his four strength players carry the ball so that I have to get at least three players on them to have a decent chance of stopping him. The scores usually end up two to one.
Suggestions?

Get guard on your Storm Vermin, and take longer to score. Use your mummy and Rat Ogre to do some damage to fragile elves. If you get one of those Str 4 elves down, foul him.

A Mummy on a skaven team :o

Make the most of your gutter runners. They will hogg a lot of spp - let them and develop them as "blitzer types". Give them block, stripp ball, leap and on doubles horns, dauntless. Once you have block you should not be afraid to make two dice defenders choice blocks if the opponent ball carrier dont have block/dodge. Think 100% on defence when you choose skills - offence will not be a problem with the speed and agility on these guys.

Dauntless on GR, combined with Horns or Strip Ball it makes them amazingly good blitzers.

I think this is a key for skaven.

I know when I play against teams with one...or more...One Turn Scorers I seem to always win 2-1 because the skaven team hasn't put enough SPPs into skills to stop from being scored on...slowly and painfully. :)
