I am starting a league with some friends.. I belive its going to be a 10game league or so with playoffs at end.

Its the typical league life where I play

I am playing norse in a league for the first time. Iv played them enough over time and in touraments, but this is first time with keeping a prolonged team.

This is what im starting with

1 Minatour (using New wa rules)
6 lineman
1 catcher
1 thrower
2 blitzters

3 rerolls
9 fan-factor

I feel its a good start. I was really torn about the Minotaur (its one of my favorite creatures in general and i got a cool mini for it, so if i go big-guy i wont go ogre, just based on liking minators better, not for game reasons

anyway. do you think its wise to only have 2 blizters at the start?

10 games i should have time to add 2 more and altough by the end, they wont be as good. i should have one of the starting ones well off, assuming he donest die.

I plan on adding a blitzer, apo , then catcher, then blitzter, then catcher in that order assuming all things go well and I dont lose like 3 people a game.

I have seen lots of comments on good starting tourament norse teams, but upon searching around, not many on league teams. Just wanted to see if anyone liked this team setup.

I prefer to start with this line-up:

1 thrower
2 catchers
3 blitzers
5 lineman

fan factor 9
re-rolls 3

get an apo as soon as possible!
the three blitzers can work together. with the three, noone within three squares of the end zone is safe (keep the blitzers two squares of the sidelines and the last one in the middle.

Yep, an Apo is a must as soon as possible. I even started with one!
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linemen
1 Apo
3 RR
8 FF

You said you prefer the mino for non gameplay reasone, OK, but still the Ogre is SO MUCH BETTER!

I really am a fan of the Minatour over the ogre as a figure and as a fluff thing.

with the New WA. i think minos are again playable. and my team is based more on somewhat misguided concepepts. (im really playing this team more as fun and such, (we have like 5 new blood bowl players in the league so im sort of playing a bit lower key then i might normally))

apothecry will be bought either next or after 1 player. it depends on money rolls and if anyone happens to die on me right away.

You should think again.
Start with an apoth. Your AV7 may hurt you much in the first game. I don't know what other teams will play in your league but if there are some hard hitting teams like Orcs, Dwarves, Chaos, Khemri or so then there is a good chance for you to play one of them in your first game and they may hurt you badly without an apoth.

Carnage:
I just started playing a league with almost the same line up (except 2 catchers, 5 linos and 7ff).
Played 2 warm up games and 1 league match. 1 w (vs. Orcs) 1 d (vs. CD) 1 l (vs. Skaven - shame on me, I really played poorly).
So the match record is OK, but the Orcs in the first game killed a blitzer, witch was a major setback - after 3 games still no apo and TR 109.
I'm playing another orc team next, and really hope no one gets killed.

I like the mino as well with the newest rule, but another time I might consider starting with 3 blitzers instead.

Hey Carnage, I started a team like this, and it took a while to get going and I took some lumps in the early going...but the important players got the SPP's early and it helped.

1 Thrower
4 Berserkers
5 Lineman
1 Minotaur
2 rerolls
9 Fan Factor

This team won my little league without challenge after the 2nd season. I had the blizters with 4 skillls a piece. Of course, this was with the broken Piling On rules, and 49 Casualties over their last 6 games. But the premise is still the same. The Berserkers are the important guys, feed them the TD's and blocks in the early going.
