CW take +ma?

Post by swilhelm73 »

So I rolled a (4,6) on a CW with block.

Should I take the movement or a regular skill (probably MB)?

Yup, the MA gives you a 4 ST ballcarrier.

Very nice to be able to advance the cage 6 spaces.

mv is good, the only time you shouldn't take mv is when you roll a double on teams with access to physical skills.

MA is always a good thing as MA5->MA6 is quite a big leap in practice. However, it really depends on what you want to use the player to, a regular skill (MB, Guard) might be a worthwhile choice if you know that movement is not going to be that big of an issue for him.

I should point out that I already have two good running backs - including the 2nd best Chaos scorer ever on FUMBBL - on this team...but no one with damage skills.

Well, that's a big deal to know.

I like to do two things:

1. Create mis-matches.
2. Create balance.

I want to create mismatches that my opponent has a hard time dealing with - this creates tactical mistakes by my opponent and results in situations that I can exploit. I create balance to avoid the same mismatches for my opponent.

If you have good ballcarriers, then adding speed to this guy won't improve your running game much. Generally, however, you have really bad speed, so adding a +1 move and making the guy a safety/sweeper sounds like a good plan to me. Even though you could use the extra bashiness, it will certainly come later and you may never roll any more speed.

+MA.

Guard would be nice, but in the long run the extra MA will be more useful.

I voted for +1MA.

It is nice to have a STR4 player with MA6. So he can be your ballcarrier and may make some TD's to get his next skill roll quickly.
