TROLL star player

My mate bought the Troll star player for his Skaven Team and although he had a bad night throwing ones a lot. We could not see the advantage of the Troll. Throw team mate skill with an agility of one is not very good, also his slow move and the lack of block meant that he was on the floor or not moving that far. Were we missing something, some tactic we didnt try?
Or is the troll just expensive and overated?

Use TTM with quick/short passes only, the throw will probably not be accurate, but...
Wait a moment; Skaven haven't even got players you can throw; a player needs Right Stuff the be thrown...
Well, back on track, the throw might not be accurate, but at least not a fumble, and the thrown player (Ag3) will still have a 50% chance of landing ok, and running for it (the TD)
Also, a Troll is mainly a Blocker, not a runner/blitzer, so he isn't meant to run fast.
Block is a good first skill to give to a Troll, it will make his blocking much better

He has a player with right stuff.
I think the troll can play with chaos teams?
Also if the troll throws his team mate with an agility of one he will always need a 6, if it is inaccurate I thought the thrown player would scatter and never have a chance to land on his feet because the pass was inaccurate?
Or am I wrong in this ?
When does would a turnover take place if the pass is missed if the player is allowed to roll to stay on his feet?
Also Im assuming that a player cannot move toward the Troll, be thrown and then carry on moving?

quite right, but skaven teams are not chaos teams are they?

yes you are wrong, an inaccurate throw just has a minus 1 modifier on landing, so an agility 3 player lands on a 4 or more (assuming no tackle zones)

thanks everyone
If the pass misses but the player being thrown manages to stay up (and this is not a turnover) then I can now see the advantage of having the Troll.
I didnt realise that Skaven were not chaos?

Nor are you allowed to take Right Stuff either. Go to
http://www.bloodbowl.com and get yourself the latest official rules - The Living Rulebook (or LRB).

Trolls are best used when throwing goblins around. Skaven are better off taking the Rat Ogre. A Wild Animal gives them the crazy maniac they need to be a more effective team against bashing teams. He can pick on the bashy guys while his ratling buddies go in for the TD.
Yeah Rat God!

TBH, I think a lot of skaven would love to have a troll... AV 9 and regeneration come in handy on an av 7 team.
But it dont matter cuz skav will never get trolls

I've played gobbo and snotling teams alot so have a soft spot for Ripper, even though he is pretty poor in comparison to Morg.
If you want a one turn touchdown then Ag1 and Ag3 is much the same, you need a 6 for an accurate and a 4+ not to fumble, thanks to the -2 from long pass.
