Ugh!? ST4 on a Linerat Kicker. How to use?

That always happens to me: in my very succesful Skaven Team (TR214) there is a Linerat with Kick and it took around 14 matches for him to get his second skill! I was thinking of Block to make him survive a little longer, or Foul Appereance on doubles, as I'm trying to give FA to most of my Linerats.

And what happens: he rolls a 12, ST upgrade. I know, never turn down a ST upgrade, so I took it. But what to do with him now? Until now I set him up only on defence and tried to get him out of trouble, as his kicking skill is precious for my team, but now I have to find a use for his ST4. Without any skills like Block, dodge or catch he seems just a bully without scoring potential in a team with several top-notch GRs and SVs...

How you would use him? Just for inspiration...

I don't know if you were lucky to get the Strength increase or if it is some sick punishment. Definatly a rough place to be. I would probably have him playing the the backfield waiting for the other team to come across with the ball. He should be able to take them down with all those gutter runners running everywhere canceling out all the other tackle zones.

you were already thinking of giving him block right? you got +1 str instead, no need to change plans.. although there are a few obvious backup plans that it opens up.

@Extreme: the problem is, I already have 3 great Defence Sweepers: a Blodge/Horns/Dauntless GR, a Block/RSF Rat-Ogre and a Strip Ball/Guard Storm Vermin... I don't think that he will do a better job than these :(

But it loks more like a sick punishment to me anyway...

It will take ages to get his 3rd skill, if ever BTW

You said it yourself - put him on the line and have him hold up two players. Give him a buddy and you should be able to flatten or push them both each turn.

Get a new kicker... One ST4 rat is a target...

SQUEEK!

Have you thought about using him to carry the ball? Any 4 ST ballcarrier is nothing to laugh at.

Could be good, but risky especially without block, dodge and perhaps sure hands... for those strip ball blitzers...

Hhhm, a 7 4 3 7 Ball carrier would be the cornerstone of any other team, but I'm afraid that my two blodge MA10 gutter Runners are safer ball carriers. Maybe I should send him deep and into the opponents half for assisting the GRs and/or taking over the ball...

Seems to me you give him the +st and you him as a linebacker. Since you have kick anway you don't want to put him on the LOS on D.

Let your GRs/RO remain the safeties.

Put him centre and one back (on defence) to let him get his licks in if your opponent follows up your 3 on LOS while still letting him kick.
Thus: L=linerat on LOS, O = big nasty opponent who enjoys pounding rats and K= our strong kicker

OOO
LLL
..K..

Just keep doing what you were doing BEFORE he had the +ST. I mean you probably weren't complaining then, I don't see why the extra strength should bother you.

Your reaction is exactly why he'll turn out to be useful. There's nothing better than a good diversion. People are going to think "Oh better watch out for that ST4 linerat" and they'll put three guys on him to knock him down. Meanwhile, that will give them fewer players to cover those annoying gutter runners and they'll end up giving you some easy scores because of that.
