Travellers second League starts next week ...

Post by traveller »

... and guess what, yes, i will coach Orcs again ! :D
30 coaches in this league this time :o

1.000.000 coins for my first variante with 11 players :

3 BOs
3 Blitzers
1 thrower
4 lineorcs
1 Apo
RR:3
FF: 2

- no troll at the start ... after my experience at the DungeonBowl. Damm monster was most of the time soooo stupid and tried to eat my gobbos.:o
- and yes, a apothecary from the beginning ... because of the experience of the rock throwing fans first game last league.:o

another variante, i m thinking of, with just 10 players:

3 BO
4 Blitzers
1 thrower
2 Lineorcs

1 Apo
RR 3
FF 1
30K cash as reserve to buy another 11th players after the first game.

Any comments ?

BTW... there are some houserules this time again:
- 1FF and -1 for Money throw :o if the team isnt painted. I will check today, what the organiser mean with " painted " at the league.

And again lots of bribing stuff, coaches can buy at the organisers:
referee oversee a Foul 20.000
referee see a Foul 20.000
referee see a Secret weapon 10.000
referee oversee a Secret Weapon 10.000
Illegal procedure call 50.000
and a second blitz move once per game 30.000 :o

I quite like

4 BOBs
1 Troll
4 Gobbos
1 Thrower
1 Blitzer
9 FF
3 TRR

Although it will start off a little slow your BOBs & Troll should skill up relatively quickly. Then you can buy the apoth, blitzers and 2nd thrower (don't bother replacing the gobbos too much)

More generally I'd never start with less than 7 FF, and I always go for at least 3 RR.

Take 2 BOBs and 4 Blitzers. The blitzers are faster and have block to start with. Use the Black orcs on the line and keep the blitzers spread out in the backfield for defense. Also, the blitzers have AG 3 and are able to score for the boyz.

I like the rest of your choices though.

Trav, you have to start with at least 11 players.

If you're going to play more than 5-6 games with this team, I'd make an effort to get a 9 FF.

yeah ff9 best choice.
Get 3/4 blitzers so you can activate a block or blitz in your turn with little fear. 2RR fine because as an orc fighting better than any other action, and with players with block your turn will be less risky than many rookie teams.

Max 11 players not because of money; but more chance of black orc MVP's. As soon as you get 4black orc's with block the world is yours!

Well, after checking the posts here, reading some older post , remembering bad and good experiences of the last league and the tournements... here my choice:

3 BOs ( .... for a better chance to get MVP, juck101  )
3 Blitzers (... because i like MA6 and at last some skills at the beginning)
1 Thrower (... to save some rerolls  )
3 Lineorcs ( ... someone has to stand in the way! )
1 Gobbo (... someone have to do last crasy stunts! )

11 players now without a apothecary ... and i just hope, no rockthrowing fan will turn up at the first game !

3 RR (... because i need them  )
8 FF ( ... thanks for the advices! I just forgot the moneything in a league!)

Thanks for your thoughts and help again.
I will post here the reports... with picts.

Depending on how many games will be played you might even consider 4 BOBs and 2 Blitzers. BOBs develop painstakingly slow, whereas later acquired Blitzers will catch up fast. Perhaps you could even get a 2nd Gobbo instead of a Lineorc to increase your FF to 9.

I dont knew, what kind of teams will play in the league ... i heard about lizards and khemris already... i think i need those lineorcs. We, or better, i will see.

My Team handled like they got these pillows already ... hardly any cas.

That idea came from my game of "Pillow Bowl" against Margot ... Norse vs. Orks, 0-0 Cas ...

That's what you get if you play without skills like "Pillow On" or "Mighty Pillow" :D

Good luck Trav!

The team you selected should be able to hold their own. Hope the gobbo doesn't get killed right away. It would be great to have a gobbo star player.
