Dark Elf Tourny Team

Im entering a Dark Elf team into the The World's Edge Greenstone Cup to be held in Auckland NZ in August. Being a D Elf player, I have no choice with which team to take. Having never played in a tourny berfore, I'm looking for a little advice.

Tourny particulars are: Teams TR 100. Four skills chosen prior to first game, as if you had rolled a 7, one skill per player max. Three more skills on second day (after 3 games) one as of you rolled a double, one skill per player, but may be given to players who recieved skills perviously. No injuries or SPPs are carried over to next game.

My first toughts are:
Blitzer 100 Skills (1st Dodge)(2nd Tackle)
Blitzer 100 Skills (1st Dodge)
Blitzer 100 Skills (1st Leap) (2nd Strip Ball)
Witch 110 Skills (1st Block)
Thrower 90
LineElf 70 Skills (2nd Guard)
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
RR x1 50
FF x4 30

Considering loosing the thrower and FF for another Line Elf and RR. I have a feeling though that I will likely end up using the extra RR for passing plays anyway and a thrower with Pass may be better.

Any help welcome.

Difficult one. I can see your logic behind your choices. Something is screaming at me to give your linmen a lot more block though and just give 1 extra skill to 2 of your blitzers. Can you take a double on the dice rolleg, double 6?

dirty player, my new favourite skill, on one of your line elves

and you will need the extra reroll more than you do those positional players

Hey, I've only just noticed that this was your first post. Welcome :D Dirty Player I overlooked, but think your right in a tourney. It is worth the risk as Darkies are not great tourney teams. I would definately get more skills spread over as many players than concentrate some on a few. You are going to need your linmen on their feet which is why I suggested giving more of them block.

I prefer dodge for keeping your linemen on thier feet. unless you are playing a team with lots of block or tackle. It gives you a better chance of staying up if you assume they will reroll both down.

plus you get the advantage of dodging though there players like they aren't there.

Interesting. This is why for a tourney I would go for block. I would gamble that a lot of players will dodge with an AG 4. If I had an AG 3 team I might go for dodge if allowed to.

dodge pretty great across the team to be honest. I would go for kick becuase AG4 teams can win games with a well placed kick. Would think gives you massive advantage vs a unskilled team.

But i am a tourni vigin so could be very wrong...

dodge with AG3 just means you are more likely to stay on your feet, you are unlikely to do anything adventurous with it.

dodge with AG4 is so cool!!! you can get anywhere with a tiny bit of luck

Hey De's are the coolest team 8) A shame they are not particularly designed for tournies.

Ok some interesting points.
I definately see the value in kick. It is hard to have to tool down my blitzers, but it clearly weakens the rest of my team. It pains me to have so few Blodgers..
Dirty player is tempting, but I seem to have poor luck when fouling, usually failing to pass armour and getting sent off. With no reserves, I just cant risk having someone sent off for just one more armour roll.
Im not sure about tackle either. I feel I need something to deal with WarDancers and Gutter Runners, but am considering swapping it for Block or Dodge on another line elf.
I usually give Dodge to line elves before block, as it gives a defensive bonus on the block dice, and with AG4 you can produce Complete Lies tm.
a 2+ Dodge with AG4 and Dodge Skill sucseeds 97.22% of the time.
a 3+ Dodge with AG4 and Dodge Skill succeeds 88.88% of the time.

Blitzer 100 Skills (1st Tackle)
Blitzer 100 Skills
Blitzer 100 Skills (1st Leap)
Witch 110 Skills (1st Block)
LineElf 70 Skills (1st Kick)
LineElf 70 Skills (2nd Guard)
LineElf 70 Skills (2nd Block / Dodge?)
LineElf 70 Skills (2nd Block / Dodge?)
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
LineElf 70
