Super black orc! another skill, suggestions?

Post by Blargle »

My black orc keeps getting MVP and is now just 3 pts away from another roll, i'm hoping for movement or strength up, or even doubles, but just expecting another skill,
he's got Block, Guard (thanx to suggestions), and what next?
Mighty blow or tackle? or other?

Depends on the rest of the team and your opponents, but Mighty Blow is a nice choice. On doubles, both Frenzy and Stand Firm are tempting.

i probly won't go frenzy, i like tight control of my orcs,
but on doubles, i'd debate posibly dodge over standfirm, by the dice only 1 in 6 results will drop him when attacked, what do you think?

That's not a bad choice either. Except for making strong cages/walls, SF is good for three more things that gets it up one notch in my book:

1) two SF guys for the sidelines makes for some really nice defense setups

2) free dodge rolls on 4+ is very nice in many critical situations when the opponents offense suddenly shifts focus

3) those free 6+ dodges right into your opponents TZ:s every time you move.

Plus, dodge is negated by tackle. SF cannot be negated.

Mighty Blow is the easy choice for a regular skill. Stand Firm is excellent on Doubles.

Everyone hopes for a St up. 8)

But for a regular skill I would go for Mighty Blow.

Mighty Blow is probably the best choice. Tackle is ok, but BOBs spend more time bashing on regular LoS lineman-types than positionals with Dodge. Might still be worth having if your league is heavy on elves, zons or stunties...

Depending on the league either Migthy Blow or Tackle.

Doubles: Stand Firm.

if doubles then i'll be the guy the guy to say dodge. just i can. its nice so you don't get knocked down. if you play the power game it does help.

i have an ogre normal stats + block and dodge more spp coming dodge does get you out of trouble a lot i wish piling on was still the same my treeman would crush all. we need to bring back the old piling on rules. who's up to protest. we can start a poll

your post is a little bit confused.

anyway, Stand Firm helps a lot more than dodge when you're playing the power play...

IMO frenzy is not that nice for a BOB, because it might tear a breach into your cage (suppose you go with the cage on offense). and the need to follow up after a push back might lead into ugly situations, where you even may have to block 1 dice or even worse 2 with enemy's choice.

instead, stand firm is perfekt for ankles of the cage.
