Best Defensive Teams?

Just curious, what race do you guys think has the best defensive game? I guess you could define that as what type of team is the hardest to score against?

My current opinion is Lizardmen, especially when they have 6 Saurus - they just seem to have so many Str-4 guys that most players can't outrun....

Wood Elves, not on your list. One mistake against them and they are away with the ball and have scored.

- each and every player with strength skills, you're running against a wall of guard players
- try to dodge and avoid blocking those nasty guard-guys? no way, too many of these b******s with tackle

Hmm... sorry - Wood Elves was supposed to be the last choice but they didn't show up. Personally, I think that is a fine line: they are the best counter-attackers and very unforgiving of mistakes, but I'm not sure that constitutes a 'good' defense in the traditional sense of Wood Elves are hard to score against - they are just hard to outscore... :)

I think it's dark elves, providing they have the time to skill up and buy 4 blitzers and 2 witch elves. At TR 100 it's probably woodies, leap is a great cagebreaker.

without a doubt dwarves, so must tackle and block, then guard once they are slightly developed they are superb defenders.

Chaos without a doubt.
They have the muscles to beat down a cage and as soon as 2 passblock/FA-beastmen are on the pitch and some more FA is spreaded, your passing-game is a mess.

Has to be Chaos Dwarves, no question. Speed, durability, big guy, cheap rerolls... the list goes on.

Hm I voted for Chaosdwarfs because the Bull-Centaurs make the difference at def. They are quicker then normal Dwarfs and have cheap Standartplayers to fill in with Hobgoblins.

But at the last games I played and have watched the Necromantic Team (not on the list) has shown his quality at defence. With 2 Werewolfs with Mov.8 and Claws+Frenzy they are perfekt backfield def. players against quick Catchers and Runners. And a slow cage is often not a good idea against the cheap but slow Zombies, and Mr. Flesh Golem is also near most the time. So Necro Teams habe a good chance to Stop or break a normal cage and also stop catchers in the backfield and are quick enough.

Humans or orcs. Both versatile and don't let you in...

Dwarfs are easy to get round...

In our league humans have the best defensive record after 2100 games...

i just hope and pray that he over commits and i can swing round the side, but i do play norse and look up at dwarves with all the jealousy of an av 7 player

Chaos Dwarves because they're hard, but have more options then just plain dwarves

I voted Humans, as I have a lot of success with them... but Dwarfs seem like the obvious option. They just don't concede TDs! :)

i think amazon are best overall side at not losing a TD. biggest pain is WE they can just run off with the ball before you ready. (a friend bless-used a one turner WE on defense and has put 7 in by half time :O)
