Guard's great on a treeman because the rest of the team doesn't have easy access to it.
You have to do something with the LoS and a guarding treeman frequently gives you 2 'easy' hits at least. I would go guard next personally and then either multi-block or tackle or break tackle or... my favorite idea...
Passblock.
You know all those times that the tree gets stranded in the middle of the field while everyone runs around him? Passblock more than doubles his movement (2 spaces on your turn and 3 on your opponents) and he can do so safely with Stand Firm and (in this case) Dodge. Then you end up putting a TZ on a catcher and putting your treeman in position to smack down the receiver on the next turn if he drops it. Also, AG 1 players statistically score the most INTs, as we all know after passing over the mummy in 2 TZs and saying, "Nah. It'll never happen..."
