Double 5 on an Ogre?

Post by Deathwing »

Ok, here's the situation, Ogre on an Orc team, second skill roll (already has Block) comes up double 5.
+1 MA? Not the most useful thing on an Ogre...
Stand Firm is the obvious choice...but how about Pass? This is an Orc team, they have a Gobbo...too gimmicky?
Thoughts?

Give him Catch! Means you have a BEAST of a Tight End!
You could build up this fantastic star player....the world's first Ogre reciever!

Stick with Stand Firm, but i'd still be tempted to ignore the double and go for Break Tackle

DW, my brother plays Humans with an Ogre who has had 3 skill rolls. He's got MA+1 TWICE and Block. A Movement 7 Ogre is something to be rightly feared!

Saying that, I just got my MA8 Beastman, +1MA, VLL and sure hands, sweeeet :D

Well I took Dodge on my Block Mighty Blow Snow Troll.

OK he's not going to be dodging anywhere. But the point is he is to go up against the toughest on the opponent's players or to take 3+ players to take him down thus opening the field up elsewhere. The good thing about Dodge on a ST 5 guy is that it is unusual to find a player with Tackle gunning for him. Now if he rolls a double again... it will be Stand Firm! Then he might be able to dodge into cages..... add Guard next and he will be hated! :)

The fastest player and the best scorer of my first team ever (dwarves) was an ogre that got +1MA, Break Tackle, +1MA...
He was a decent scorer :)

Why not Frenzy?

With Block already on a 5STR guy, it would rock.

I think Dodge,Keep him on his feet longer(in a fight) then as a next skill take break tackle could work very nicely?

Stand Firm!

He stays on the LOS plus he does get the chance to dodge if need be with no fear of causing a turnover..

That said, Pass would really help to crank up the quick TDs!

I would go with Frenzy. How many times a ST5 guys gets in trouble with the extra block? Never !

Dodge, Frenzy or Leader (if he can use this reroll, but i'm not sure).
For blocking guys Frenzy is the best i think.

I see it's too late now, but I would have gone with dodge in a heartbeat! St5 and Blk/Dge is really really rude!

Too bad they changed diving tackle... :)

speaking of which, I want to try to start up support for my DT idea. Return it to the way it was but make it an AG trait. Maybe a poll!
