Wanted: Advice for 1.100K starting Amazon roster

Post by Tante Kaethe »

Greetings,

I’m thinking about starting an Amazon-team in my tabletop league. I would have 1.100K to spend. Most of the other teams are very experienced (TR200+) with a few rather new teams. I was thinking about:

4 Blitzers 360K
2 Throwers 140K
2 Catchers 140K
3 Linewomen 150K
4 Rerolls 160K
9 FanFactor 90K
Apothecary 50K
10 K in bank

That way I could start with all positional players and an Apothecary (I’m sure that I will need him – enough of tackle around :( ). I would only have to buy the remaining linewomen and more Rerolls for 80K each (keeping my TR low). As an alternative I could trade one Thrower and one Catcher to 2 Linewomen and get a 5th Reroll.

Any comments?

Tante Kaethe.

Hi!

Si you start in league with experianced teams and only start with 11 women? I think it´s a bit gamy! I would start with 13 players minimum. So I would drop all catchers and one thrower to get 4 linewomen. It is possible to test your team against of one of the most bashing teams? After the game you may consider a new starting roster.

I played in league where some team were some teams are as experienced as they are in your league. I started started with 11 Human players and an ogre. After my team was totaly elininated I wished I started with minimum 13 players.

My starting roster would be:
4 Blitzers: 360
1 Thrower: 70
8 Linewo.: 400
3 Rerolls: 120
9 FF : 90
1 Apo: 50
10 in the bank!
You might consider going a little more risky and drop the Apo to go for the 4 Reroll.

If you strart your way I hope you don´t get beaten up in the first game.

Good Luck!

Dendron

Hi Dendron,

thanks for your quick reply :D . However, I'm not so sure if one or two additional players could reduce the risk of getting my team crippled. I'm expecting to loose most of my early games anyway and I will concentrate on using the Dodge-Skill to keep my girls out of trouble. Furthermore, in our league I can make 5 so-called "free-games" before I take part in our scheduled Cups. Therefore, I would try to have a few matchups against some Elven-Teams hoping that I won't get beaten up too badly.
So I should be able to field some more Linewomen before I have to rumble with the big boys  .

If indeed you start against Elves...perhaps you can lower your FF and get a 5th RR. All teams around you should have high enough FF for you to get a lot of money...since your TR=110...

amazons?
this is the best roster:
2 catcher
4 reroll
1 thrower
2 blitzer
6 lineman
9 ff
1 apo
1 treasure.
but for your league is better have 12 players: - 1 rr, +1 lineman
