How do you guys like to play with a human team?
I mean do you like to build a team around throwers and catchers and use the wings to your advantage or do you play fopr a punch up!
Having played with Skaven in the past I tend to play using the thrower/catcher combination.

I usually build a punch up team. That's just my style. Human blitzers good. Really good! IMO they are much better players than the catchers. I've seen my share of awesome human catchers but none have had the same amount of love/hate as most of the Griffs who have passed through here. We had a human team develop 3 blodge + mighty blow blitzers once. I don't remember the names of his catchers but I remember the names of all 3 of those bastards!

I tend to go for a balance, but of course it depends on what skills you get and what Human team you are using. Brettonians are blitzer friendly and are my favourite, but you have to be careful in going for a fight with teams of AV 8. Come up against the real hard boys and you lose. Best to develop both strategies and use your squad in a flexible manner.

The best way to play with humans is to keep them on a leash, let them run to the end of it then jerk it , tenderizes their hard heads, my sauri love it , they taste like chicken. To reply directly to your subject line my teams prefer their humans slow roasted on spits.

I should also go the strength way at first, like Pariah. Human Blitzers are good, start with as many as possible. And the Ogre Big Guy is the best BG around. Even if you will lose him in average 2-3 turns per game he doesn't cause random turnovers like the RO, and when you get skill on him he gets really good. Human linemen are good meatwalls.
But the Human team has the possibility to become a very good passing team to. The AG3 stops them at first, but after developing some more skills (and perhaps that lucky 11 skillroll on a thrower or catcher) they get better.
They are an allround team, which you can start in one way and later develop in a second way.
Just my opinion. I'm not a frequent human player, so others surely have more experience with them and can give more advice.

Hi there!
I am with Pantera here. I play humans for a while now and also started with four blitzers (and no catchers).
The best about humans is their flexibility. If you don't use your thrower like an elf he is pretty reliable. And after a couple of games he will have two or three skills (mine used to stick to the ball sometimes as far as the end zone to score a bit...). This means mostly kepping the ball on the ground at firstv and throwing a short pass at max to earn a completion. Later on, here flies the ball...
Since all players have AG3 it doesn't really matter who tries to catch the ball (o.k., the catchers have a rr for that). But the blitzers are more useful for nearly everything if you only have 11 or 12 players. And since the humans are quite cheap, you can get your catchers pretty early during a season. So being patient with a passing game can also confuse your opponent in the second half of a season when he thinks he knows what is comming next...
The other good thing about this kind of team development I really like is that I started off scoring with my blitzers a lot. Since they are my working horses they needed every SPP they could get for new skills. Since my catchers are now my primary scorers and I can see how this slows down the SPP development of the blitzers (they need a lot of points now for their next skill roll so I don't really mind).
Going for violence is maybe dependent from the opposing team. But with humans you can have a nice fight, too (as long as the dice don't let you down). However, I am a BIG fan of that theory that if you concentrate on the ball, you will have more casualties than if you are just kicking some ass around the pitch. And by the way, yes, don't try to fight four Black Ork veterans for a whole game. You could come up second in the end.

With humans I like to play to my opponents weakness. Against Elves, I play rough. Against Orcs or Chaos, I pass the ball. It all depends on the opponent.

Ahh double entendres.
Humans are the most versatile team though. They are able to play any type of game (blocking, passing, running...) well. They can also switch playing style as they develop.
Furelli.
P.S. I always found that they tasted more like Whiskers(tm).

In tests, 9 out of 10 Orc coaches said their Orcs preferred them.
