Undead Team skill development and tactical help.

I run an undead team, and was fortunate enough to roll a double 6 for his skill upgrade. Taking the strength upgrade seemed obvious so took it. The next skill I get seems clear (block). I was wondering what people out there think should be my third skill? I have managed to get a zombie with guard so my LoS consists of two mummies with the zombie standing in between.

At the moment I am considering getting Multiple block, or guard to protect my zombie and have a very nasty LoS. Any suggestions would be great.

Have not played for long time so I'm going to lose two wights due to rule changes, teams current setup is as follows:

Mummy 3 6 1 9 Regenerate, Mighty Blow, ST + 1
Mummy 3 5 1 9 Regenerate, Mighty Blow
Wight 6 3 3 8 Regenerate, Block, Tackle
Wight 6 3 3 8 Regenerate, Block, Dodge
Wight 6 3 3 8 Regenerate, Block, Tackle
Wight 6 3 3 8 Regenerate, Block
Ghoul 7 3 3 7 Dodge, Block, Sure Hands
Ghoul 8 3 3 7 Dodge, MA + 1
Ghoul 7 3 3 7 Dodge
Zombie 4 3 2 8 Regenerate, Guard
Zombie 4 3 2 8 Regenerate
Zombie 4 3 2 8 Regenerate, Block
Zombie 4 3 2 8 Regenerate
Skeleton 5 3 2 7 Regenerate
Skeleton 5 3 2 7 Regenerate
Skeleton 5 3 2 7 Regenerate

Any general tips and hints for skill development and tactics will be appreciated. My team has currently played 7 games and is currently top of our league ladder.

Get a zombie/skelly kicker and dirty player and then develop the position guys.
The mummies
Block guard tackle, before multiblock, although the s6 could get it after block, so long as the other one is block guard ;).
s6 block multiblock , accompanied by the guard zombie can be a bit tasty. :D

What Zy-Nox said.

I don't know what style you like to play, but Catch on the Ghoul currently without skills or the one with +1MA opens up the better opportunities for passing plays. Personally I like tossing the pigskin even with an Undead team but then again the dice are against me when I try the maiming tactics, so I prefer to keep my options open.

Personally my LOS is made up of three cannon-fodder, aka zombies. They are cheap, pretty durable and that way they don't have to run to the halfway-line as they are there already. Okay, so they are down most likely, but still  .

tactic wise.
i prefer to kick, then if my oppo scores yay!, i take the rest of the half to score,(of course if its the last turn i dont ;) ) unless i do some miracle.
then you take all 8 to grind out your td in the second, winning 2-1 hopefully.
Or spend 8 to score in the first, your oppo has to rush the second, then gives you the rest of the second to get the winner.

Block and Guard on the Two Mummies, Only use them on the LOS if your receiving or your playing Elves, Skaven etc.

Ghouls: Give em Block asap, Without regen you could be replacing these continually so they need all the protection they can get. Catch is Ok later but only to receive a hand off not from a Pass.

Wights have to take tackle to be able to take down opposition blodgers.

Dodge/Guard on Doubles. Strip Ball next gen skill.

Zombies: At least two dirty players. At 40k a piece who cares if they get send off while taking out a wardancer or such.

Flesh out ( No Pun intended the rest of the Zombies With Block , one kick. Guard on Doubles

PS: Forget multiple Block, Its only likely to work againt Elves etc, as Orcs and the Like will have plenty of guard and you'll just be stetting yourdelf up for the Fall.

Oh yeah forgot Break tackle on Mummies, Stand Firm on Doubles

Break tackle means he may be able to get at players more worthy if being tied down by Linemen, and its also a potential great Cage breaker as well on a St5 player and one of yours is ST6 ;-)

Always have a clear game plan in mind IE Winning 2-0 or 2-1 not 4-0/4-3.

As the game develops opportunites may develop for you to be able to dominate and win 3-0 or similar. be particularly wwary about flimsy Av7 and elvsih teams letting you score. they are only doing it so they have enough time to equalise and go into half time 1-1. Also the more time you kick off the more chance there faster movement has of hurting you through Blitz and the Kick off table. Punish them if he backs off, then just move your cage further upfield, with enough dirty players and your Mummies you can potentially take off the pitch one opposition per turn, leaving them nothing to come back at you with. Re,meber with undead its a game of attritition

3rd skill for the str 6 mummy should be break tackle to dodge into 3 tz on a 3+, which is very nice for cage breaking.

The St6 Mummy should go for multiblock (and block of course), for doubles I would give them standfirm.

Give the Whights tackle, on doubles guard will be a fine choice.

And I would give at least two zombies Dirty player.

Thanks guys and gals! The more information the better.

Just to let you know. I'll give you a list of the teams currently playing in my league to help you guys when giving me your strategies.

There are the following teams in my league:
Orcs
Humans
Undead (Me)
Dwarves
Skaven
Dark Elves
Norse
Goblins

Keep the good tips coming.

Just for your information, against finesse teams I hold onto the ball as much as possible in order to inflict as much damage, as the less players for them the better for me as the game continues. Against the Orcs and Dwarves I tend to try to minimise there blocking and by using zombies to slow down any cages they form.

Against the orcs and dwarves just use some basic cage slowing plays then punch holes into it with your mummies eventualy the ball carrier will be in a hitable position, then you go get him.
Humans and the rest, read my above post, you should either be thinking of winning 2-0 2-1 nothing more(like mcdeth said ;)) unless you are killing him, (i once managed 6-0 with undead, but that was due to some really silly dice.)
Against all the teams dont forget to foul his better palyers.
Orcs, Foul his black orcs
dwarves, foul the slayers and then the runners
humans, blitzers and catchers
etc.
oh and only do worht while fouls, ie wuth a dp.
