Elf Skill advancement

Post by Zyad »

In this team: http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&team_id=120602

The ag5 blitzer rolled a 10 for his 4th skill (6+4). Should i take the +MA, or go for another skill, like tackle (or any other skill), since i don't have any tacklers on my team yet.

Also, the Rookie catcher roled double 5's for his first skill. Should i make him ma9, or give him another skill that he couldnt normally get because it is doubles?

i'd say +MA on the blitzer, with ag5 and later leap, he'll be very mobile, your own personal wardancer.

for the catcher, it depends on the way you play them. +MA if you score asap, Guard if you like to play a bit bashy, or against bashy teams, dump off if you want to try the NoS/Dump-Off combo in offense.

I would choose +MA for both players.

Link is bad, so I don't know what kind of elves we are talking about.

For the blitzer, either take the MV or Leap.

For the catcher your decision is tricky. MV 9 is really, really good IMO, as you hardly need to advance on turn one of a drive to be able to score in the next turn. However, NoS or Jump Up are also worth having... :)

link is fine, but maybe you have to be identified on fumbbl for it to work.

Hmmm... link works fine for me. And the elf catchers start with NoS already, so that option is out

it works for me, even when i log out, so i dont know whats wrong...

its a regular elf team (not wood, dark, or high. just elf). The blitzer is 7358 block, sidestep, dodge. The catcher is 8347 catch, NoS.

yah link is fine
ma is nice and as gus said leap after,
however i am tempted to go stripball now then leap, as he may age before then.

Prima facie I would go for the +1ma for both.
...although leap would be a worthwhile choice instead of the +1ma for the blitzer, as your player may age quickly, hence may not last long enough to get too many more skills.

move for the blitzer,
Dumpoff for the catcher...

NoS and Dumpoff are a great combo... especially on 2 catchers...

Pass me another Elf, Captain. This one's split.

That's indeed a very very good idea you've had here - too bad I hadn't thought of it myself before...
