Hi guys,

here is a very frustrated guy . I'm playing on fumbble now and played so about 10-12 games with my Norse and Chaos. And i have only won two games.....
My opponents were fair, no fouling from them. But they all kicked my butt....

Maybe some of you want to look in to my games and could give a good advice about my mistakes. I always tried to make a cage and protect the ball carrier. But i always got my cage opend and lost the ball. I wasn't able to score a td in 4 games. Maybe i am just a bad coach. But i have some tabletop BB experience. Hm, i really dont know what to do.

With chaos you chose a very weak at tr100 team and from what i gather you started with 3 chaos warriors! this may have left you with little rerolls and not much hope in a macth.

What i would have suggested was to go with 10 beastmen and one warrior if you wish and load up on rerolls as you dont have any ball handling skills (khemri throwers are better at picking up the ball than you!)

Id also get kick on someone as soon as possible

retire the norse lineman with no skill and niggling to keep tr low and prevent that a niggling player earn mvp an spp.
chaos is hard to play at the beginning. but both of your teams looks nice. try to sepcate other norse and chaos player to learn

OT: I never really got that 'fouling is unfair' vibe that seems to have so many fumbbl supporters.
Anyway on fumbbl it's important to start out with teams geared for the long run: maxed out in fan factor and rerolls at the cost of positional players. This means that you can have a tough time winning at first but it gets better after a few games.

OT: I do not see fouling as unfair. I use it for tactical advantage too. (Wardancers and stuff)what i meant was: they didn't fouled just for the fun of fouling. They played BB not Foul Bowl.

My both teams started with a FF of 7 and the Chaos with 2 RR and the Norse with 3 RR.
I know that Chaos is hard in the beginning. But Norse should really start better or?

The Norse start off equipped with the proverbial RR-saver: Block. It's just that when a Norse player goes down, they aren't any more durable than Woodies, Pro Elves or Skaven.

yes thats right and i was lucky till now with the casusalties that were made against me.

Norse and low-TR chaos are among the more difficult teams to coach if you're new to the game. Try humans or undead, and get back to your first teams later on!

The problem is: I am not new to the game. I played 2 seasons as a welf coach. They were easy to play. Just run-pass-td. But with these non agility teams and my personal drive to run and pass and go forward its really hard to stay calm and make a a cool save game.

I must get more experience....

P.S. I still love that game. It can be so annoying.

P.P.S a little Story from fumbble:

I lost 3:1 against a welf coach. He was nice all the game long. (He was on the winning road). And we had some nice small talk.

Last turn in the secound half for him. He blitzed with his Strenght 4, Agility 5, Blodge, Leap, Sidestep WD against my 1 SPP Lineman. Double Skull, No RR left, Niggling Injury, Apo fails. , I cried yes before my Monitor. After that: No bye from him or a cya or thanks for the game. At the end i thought: I have won the game

I find that Norse really need to play the fouling game to survive. It gets players off the pitch and makes it easier to deal with remaining players. plus if you get ejected...u can't get hurt.

nah. just an av7 team that really gets pounded.


skaven can defend themselves pretty good with forcing teams to overcommit to gutterrunners.

Woodies can dodge away fairly easily.

gobs and zons have dodge...keeps them up more.

Teams that need to foul to win: Khemri and Norse

It just happens to be true for Norse

Not much else to do but block, and being AV 7, outnumbered and only capable of making blocks is generally a very bad idea.

I bow to the superior typing speed of Gken1...

most important is to move your pl into position before you roll any dice. try to secure the ball without picking it up --> lots of turnovers. just put tz on it. keep the ball safe and out of the opponents hands. do the non risk moves early and the high-risk moves last.

you take 1db or 2 dagainstb which is very dangerous; it burns rr which you don't have and need for ballhandling or worse leads to turnovers. search for doubleskulls very sophisticated article about the art of the block. you can learn a lot from this.

with chaos it's important not to pass the ball, unless nescessary to get one missing spp or a td.

most of all, keep trying. you'll learn fast and a lot as long as you try. i started my fumbbl career the same way you did .
