Best Pick against Skaven, Wood & High Elf
Hi!
I'm almost new to Blood Bowl and some friends and I are starting a little "tournament" (12 games each team) . Which race would you advice me to play knowing the others are Skaven, Wood Elf and High Elf.
Thanks!

welcome to tbb vlad,
and in reply to your question you may want to go for a team like chaos, as they are fairly agile and quite strong and would inflict quite a lot of casualties against the other teams. or maybe even dwarves (although if you are new to the game they are quite challenging to play, as one mistake and the like of skaven etc will counter you easily) as they are a strong unit with plenty of tackle to counter the dodgers you will be playing against, and they can start with almost all of their posistionals players in their eleven. but i think you should just go with what race appeals to you the most and what you would enjoy playing with. hope this helps...

I would go with chaos dwarves. Chaos might be better if there were more games, but early on you will suffer from the lack of block, as well as the lack of tackle to take down the blodgers they will all have after only a few games. The C Dwarves have the benefit of ST4 BallCarriers, plus enough tackle to give the blodgers something to worry about. The BC's also will have enough speed that you will not find in a dwarven or chaos team, with sprint and sure feet. They cannot quite keep up with a gutter runner or wood elf catcher, but they are close enough. Since theres two av7 and one av8 team, your guys will also last a lot longer, and be able to get many casualties on his guys.

Basically none of them ought to be able to stop your steam roller offence and they'll all suffer because they have to contentrate development against both agile and strength teams, where you only have to worry about agile.
Dwarves really suffer compared to other strength teams - because S3 and skills isn't as good as S4 in the long run. However agile teams never like running up against teams full of Block & Tackle.
CDs would also be good.

I'd go Chaos Dwarf ... they are a little quicker than normal Dwarfs, so if you need to catchup against an AG team (happens, just fail the pickup once and get an unlucky bounce) you still have a chance to win.
Chaos will suffer the first 6 games against all that Agility. No Tackle, No Block ... not my choice.
Knowing that the season only goes 12 games, Norse might be a decent choice as well. Esp. if you can specialise on hitting AG teams skillwise (tackle on every lineman

I would have said dwarves, but remember, he is almost new to blood bowl. dwarves are a hard team to coach sucessfully, although they dominate when they are. Chaos dwarves are much better for someone relatively new to the game, since one small mistake will cost you a whole lot more on a dwarf team. True, with dwarves, you can annilihate their teams, but you can still get scored on and lose when they have 4 guys on the field if you dont know what you're doing with dwarves. CD is the safer bet, mixing the speed, strength, and those longbeards. Wait on coaching dwarves until you have a little more experience, IMO.
Maybe go dwarves next season or something, but for now, stick with the CD's, and you will find you might not get as many casualties, but you will win more games, which is really more important.

If Chaos Dwarves, make sure you pick a Mino (not a Troll), He'll scare the heck of the elfs
