bull centaur skill?

Post by sven »

hello all,

im my last game with my chaos dwarves my bull centaur gained his second skill, i rolled a double three and cant decide what to give him, so far he has sprint, sure feet, thick skull and break tackle. im tempted to so for stand firm as it would mean i could dodge without any worry of falling over. but do you have any better options? and i dont want to develop him into a ball carrier as i have a bull centaur with ag3.

i'd go for stand firm, or dodge, or frenzy, in that order of preference.

Thats what i would have said. Stand firm and Dodge in the lead with Frenzy a distant third.

if you already got your ball handler...frenzy. My bud took it on his bull centaur and hasn't regreted it.

I would jump on Frenzy and cry out in mad laughter everytime he blitzed some poor git off the pitch.

hi alex,

just to let you know that is what i have gone for and it served me well last night, as he effectively held the line and broke free to collect the ball on a "blitz" action from the kick off. thanks for all your replys everyone.

Hi Phil,

Standfirm is a great skill and with break tackle your bull centaur will be a really reliable blitzer.

Have fun with him. :P

Cheers

Ok, not that I'm an expert or anything (FAR FAR from it!!!) but why has no-one mentioned block??

Not that its a great thing to pick on a double but I should have thought it would be pretty mandatoory, especially as a league advances and more and more players have it.

Because he can choose block for his third skill.

I won't waste a double for a skill which I can choose regularly.

that was my original plan jimmy but like kithor said i felt i could not waste the double, as i can take block next time.....unless of course i roll another double

Sorry, perhaps my question was conveyed poorly, (beleive me I understand the value of Double rolls for skills!).

To rephrase the question, would you reccommend B.tackle over Block as a first skill? It just seems like the st4 is a bit wsted w/o block as you cant even use the 2Dice confidently if your opponent has the block skill.

whether your opponent has Block or not doesn't change the odds of you going down, so that shouldn't be taken into consideration imho.

now, many coaches believe that the real strenght of a bull centaur isn't his ST but his mobility. that's why we tend to get BT first, as it allows you to actually USE the ST4 instead of just getting it pinned by a lame lino.
