I just played a game on fumbbl after coming off with 3 games at shockingly bad luck. So, my real life friend decided to kill 2 players, and niggle 3.

This is coming off 2 games where 2 players have been niggled, and 2 more have died.

I am angry.

Screw conventions of the english language, I am angry.

more no grammer or speling!!!!

Or mabye I will, typing badly angers me even more.

It seems like bloodbowl has been DESIGNED to be frustrating. It's not like WHFB, where outcomes are based on the rolling of 10+ dice. Games ALWAYS come down to the roll of a single dice, and even when making a good descision, people still have a fair chance of losing the game to shit luck.

Example: An experienced catcher with the ball goes for it near the endzone to avoid being piled by orcs (a wise decision). He fails. He trips over. He breaks many bones. He is forced to be retired.... (*&^*@$%!&^#$ (much swearing).

I wouldn't complain about the game this much if this example came from many dice being rolled and 1's all round. But it's not. It comes from the roll of 6.

It seems like the game was DESIGNED to be frustrating.

After this game, my team has gone from ~180 TR to barely better than it started off with.

I COULD retire the team, but it is much loved, and is my only team, backed up by models (much loved). All of the players, are much loved, and imaginatively named. If I do retire them, then I have to create another, though the image of the old one stays with my account, until someone says "Hey, that guy retires his teams as soon as he loses, therefore, he is teh sukc".

Anyway, my team now is:

Blitzer, Block mighty blow, tackle
Blitzer, Block, mighty blow, tackle
Blitzer, Block NIGGLE & SI
Thrower, Pass, sure hands, accurate
Thrower, Pass, sure hands, accurate, strong arm, NIGGLE & SI
Lineman, block, NIGGLE & SI
4 Linemen
3 catchers, good skills.
Ogre

What should I do with this? Should I retire the niggle guys to bring down my TR? If I do, I'll only have 10 players, and still have 141 TR. I loathe retiring the whole team, doing so will probably cause me to quit blood bowl alltogether.

MUCH anger,
FlameKnight

Well thats nothing for Tactic and Team Development I think ;)

If something like this happens its als shit but its a dice game you can do nothing about it. It can be frustrating and everything but luck can change with every dice that is rolled, never forget that ;)

It's great when the players don't do what the coaches want. A recent game in my league saw the best player (a HE Catcher) roll double skulls when blitzing for a TD. It set the game up perfectly and was tense and exciting, eventually finishing 4-3. Don't get frustrated. This is what I am on about on a regular basis. Find a way to weave a strong narrative to tell your team's sorry tale of woe. I would advise battling against adversity but you're playing online so it's all about the powergaming. Your bad.

Got the same lately. 2 games in a row without a chance of scoring, getting beaten to pulp, and seeing the only player who gets a skill receive a niggling through aging. I decided to retire all my nigglers to decrease TR, and I am left with an allround (human) team as almost every player has a skill or 2. Retreived my sprits that way....

Its still not a bad team. If you think thats fustrating try playing with rookies after you've got used to TR 180.

Also I dont think you should be so angry. This is the natural way of things. Teams cant be expected to get better after every single game. Id hate it if they did. Thats one of the things I dislike about BB and BBers - the constant need to get better and better and just give up if it goes in reverse for a while. I think your team is much more charachterful with the injuries and they will build back up again.

If you think you'll have enough cash to replace him after next match, ditch the blitzer. I'd hold on to the thrower untill the other one gets strong arm and I'd ditch the lino so the other ones get more room to develop.

The guideline number of niggles must not exceed number of doubles or stats increases on skill rolls is a good basis for further decissions, but not a hard critereon.

And with all that bad luck, you still have that silly sig?

Ditch the Lino, if he's missing the next match anyway there's little point keeping him excpet to be come line fodder.

Like Duke Jan said if you can afford to replace the SI and Niggled Blitzer with the next game's winnings ditch him too. Keep the Strong Arm Thrower, only retire him if he picks up more injuries or when the other Thrower gets Strong Arm/ +Ag. As long as he misses only 1 in 6 games he's still a very good asset for the team.

I'd fire the nigglers... 141 isn't a bad TR with 10 players... and online you have the choice to play weak teams don't you...
play a game or two against 'flings' or starting 'zons to build your cash back up (don't expect to win either)... and rehire two blizters...

best advice i could give...
