Dark Elves in a short league

Ok, I'm looking for a change from Lizardmen, so I thought I'd try Dark Elves.

Our league is a slightly modified vault, FF is still free, 12 games with playoffs.

I have looked at the recommended starting roster for DE, but that seems to be geared towards perpetual leagues, ours re-sets every season. With that in mind, I was going to try:

1 Thrower
1 Blitzer
1 Witch Elf
8 Line elves
2 RR

I think going with 2 Blitzers, 9 Line elves and 3 RR is probably a more conservative choice, but I'd really like a chance to play with all the positionals and with the short season I thought getting them developed early would be important.

Any thoughts? Am I shooting myself in the foot?

Drop out the thrower. He is useless for the darkelf game and put in a blitzer instead.

I would use my tournament roster if FF is free

4 blitzers, 7 line-elves, 2 RR

having 2 extra block is worth a reroll. get dodge on the bliters early and you have a great team.

i agree with somethings but playing with woodelves and humans and darkelfs i would consider you must have a thrower

But Dark Elves are quite different then woodies or HE. Only passes you should throw with de early on are short ones at most.

One alternative for such a league is to go for 3 RRs:

2 blitzers
9 line-elves
3 re-rolls
20k in treasury for apoth after 1st game.

I'd agree with this, best dark elf play is a combo short pass and hand off. you can cover most of the field in a single turn. Although I would usually only go to a short pass with a team reroll or as a last turn chance to score.
