Building a Chaos Team with RR 2004

Hi there,
For the next league, I have decided to play the "team destruction" approach more than the agile playing style of my elves.
Thus, I had to chose between Ogre and Chaos, and decided for Chaos as they seem to have much more potential on the bashy side.
That being said, I am looking at a series of leagues, carrying over my team into the next one each time. So, its at least 14 games before I enter the finals of a league I wish to win, I ll take some time to build up the team.
However, what I really want is a team that other players are afraid of playing against, for reasons of casualties and for reasons of losing :p
Starting Lineup :
2 Chaos Warriors 200k
9 Beastmen 540k
3 Re-Rolls 210k
5 FF 50k
Now, I wonder if the 1 CW 10 BM 9 FF approach is better, or if a Big Guy is still a viable choice? And if so, which one of them?
Further team progression will concentrate on one Sure Hands BM, and at least one Chaos Warrior (whoever gets a double) as a player killer, using RSF or Claws, Mighty Blow, and possibly Frenzy.
On the Big Guy, I suppose Minotaur is really out of question, too many turnovers caused. Troll would suit a more defensive approach, while Ogre is more mobile...
By gut feeling, I would go with the troll regardless, but what is your experience?

After the changes of "Wild Animal" in the RR03/04 it isnt that risky to take a Mino anymore I think
Your starting Cockerel looks ok 2 me, personally I would go for another 2 CW bevor a big-guy

from my own experience - which might not be the best out there =) - i would say that, while the 3RR option is seducing, you have much more pleasure playing with 3 CW. if you play carefully, you can have them skill really fast, and have real machines.
my suggestion is:
080 8 FF
140 2 RR
300 3 CW
480 8 BM
first an apoth, then 4th CW, then get RR fast.
don't bash when it is not secure to. keep your RR for ball handling in almost all the cases.
focus on getting your CW a skill per game (2 TDs on the same guy).

Go Ogre... Chaos need their troops elswhere on the pitch, they can't be bothered telling Mr. Stupido Troll what to do every turn.
Ogre doesn't hog your Blitz or a player to get up when he goes down, they both have AV9 and Chaos can have an Apoth.
Only thing Trolls do is not die, wich can be a quality in itself, but you seem intend to cause destruction, so go Ogre.

Get a minotaur big guy for destruction!!

Guard is a good intimidating skill for opposing coaches, makes them really think out their blocks and makes your life easier even without the block skill.
Also on physical rolls it can be good to choose tentacles/foul appearance instead of too much claw/razor sharp - one dimensional crunching sides are alot easier to play against.

on doubles take block over any mutation, no RR use + FRENZY+ no block=trouble. or at least take pro.

If you want a BG (and its not as necessary anymore) take the Ogre. He's more reliable than the troll. Minos have been hurt a lot more by the loss of general access because they are really blitzer types and therefore want Block & Tackle - while the Ogre is more of a roadblock so Guard etc are more useful.
I'd either get him early on (maybe even at the start) or forget about him and just get the 4 Chaos Warriors (who are much more reliable)
As for starting lineup I'd be tempted by the 2 RR & 3 CW lineup or 3 RR & 1 CW start. If you really want the BG then maybe 2 RR, 1 CW, 1 Ogre.
Whichever you chose feed the TDs to the CWs until they have block and remember that all your beastmen are great blitzers (you are paying 10k for horns, so use it!).

I played chaos 2 times in a leage.
The frist one was my first bloodbowl expierience.
3 CW 300.000
7 BM 420.000
1 Mino 110.000
2 RR 140.000
3 FF 30.000
It was my first team, and i got a lot of beating in the first few games, because of my inexperience and the lack of rerolls. The low FF made reinforcements seldom as well.
On FUMBBL (I know its online and the dice are buggy

) I started like this in the DBL (Deutsche Bloodbowl Leage)
1 CW 100.000
10 BM 600.000
3 RR 210.000
9 FF 90.000
I lost the 2 first games against Orcs with 4 BOB andd Blitzers and against Dark Elfs. But after the first match had an apoth, and after the second the second CW. My team was progressing a lot faster, then the one before. After 2 Seasons I would have played in the first out of six leages, but stopped playing because of provider problems.
What I want to say with this. Chaos is a team with a very good potential, but they start veerrry slow. You need a high FF and RR to be succesfull with them. And because of this you cannot start with to many positionals.
--> A Chaosteam with good support (high FF & RR) will do better in a longterm leage, than a Chaosteam that is packed with positionals from the start, and without RR or FF.

Chaos take time to build up. I started with no CW at all.
The 3 RR's are very important. And I started with 12 beastman. Now with the new rules I'd go for.
12 beastman 720k
3 RR 210k
1 APO 50k
2 FF
believe me, you'll get the warriors soon enough.

I ran an all beastman team in a league once. I started with 4RR and I didn't get the Chaos warriors until I could purchase 2 at the same time. By then, I was really good with the beastman and they had skilled up pretty well. The CW's were just icing on the cake.

Why so low FF Draco?

Only need it for throw a rock and maybe the winnings, but at the start of the league you'll get enough winnings and FF will build up eventually, especially now that the natural 1 and 6 rule has gone.
FF has been devaluated immensely with the last review (IMO)

Personally I like the 11 beastmen 4 RR, FF 6 option myself. It's risky as AV 8 and no apoth/block can mean with a bit of bad luck your team gets carnaged in your first match but hopefully the 4 RRs will see you through.
Your league looks a little shorter though so prehaps starting with a CW or two isn't a bad idea, I'd never start a team with less than 3 RRs. (Just a personal preference tbh).

i'm sorry, but saying that "CW will come in fast enough" with a FF of 3 is a joke, i fear =/

i agree with gus, taking a couple kickoff results away from ff means nothing, ff is for winnings, and because of this ff is still absolutly crucial, i've played lrb 4.0 for a while now, in our league, and i'd never start with less than 6 ff, still, for my 10-13 game league i play in.
