ratogre developmentz

Post by amadoris »

We play thr 3.0 and my ratogre has block. Now he has to take the 2nd skill, a normal one. I'm not sure if i've to give him guard, stripball, or something different...
What's your advice? :o

Strip ball is useful for those mobile players who can get anywhere the ball carrier is hiding, so probably not a rat ogre.
On top of that, that would be overkill as the rat ogre LRB3 has frenzy as part of his wild animal trait, i.e. he gets the chance to hit his target twice.

Guard will be definitely to help the rest of the team, although you might consider tackle, very useful in combination with prehensile tail. Pro may be your best bet, as the RO cannot use team rerolls.

Tackle would be also good combined with prehensile tail...

I would go for tackle as the i presume you still have a ag 3 ratogre? Makes dodging much easier than with ag 2.

I'd go with Break tackle too he is an important player for the way I play skaven for opening up holes in the D. Getting him to the point of attack is critical for the success of my skaven team.S.

I think Break Tackle will be a good choice. It gives you the option of risking a 2+ or 3+ dodge into a cage to sack the ball carrier.

Normally I'd develop GRs to do that (dauntless, strip ball etc - a 4+ dodge with RR is reasonably reliable) but getting the RO to do it is acceptable.

The other alternative is to give him tackle to give the maximum chance of flattening blodgers - and also complimenting his tail quite nicely.

Finally, if you use him as LOS fodder (rather than a blitzer) Guard is a good choice. Guard is never a bad choice anyway :)

Not the skill I would have chosen, but the Skaven coach in our league has turned his RO into a blitzing terror with Juggernaut.

Juggernaut isn't an official skill.
