Hi,

my troll on my Orc team is a few points away of getting his next skill... He already has block, pro, and tackle. What should he get next ? Mind you, we house-ruled guard as a trait (a left over from a store-league).

He's already quite good at hitting people now, any idea how I could make this into a real monster ?

Break tackle or Stand Firm. Guard on doubles.

Sound good?

Stand firm... that's an idea.
Break tackle; dont think so, I havent had many times I wanted it to "get away" from a player... But there is still that TR 210 Undead team I have to play. Break tackle is a nasty suprise then !

Hmmmm...

edit: we still have general access for BG.

standfirm is also a trait. Or did you houserule it?

So for a normal roll I would give him frenzy or maybe multiple block(when you have some guards).

On doubles I would give him standfirm

[edit]Crap, you said in the first post no guard allowed. So erm, yeah, frenzy or stand firm seem good if you can take them, otherwise break tackle.[/edit]

Ehm, we have general/strength for BG, but house-ruled guard as a trait.

Multiple block is good... never thought about that one. I think Ill take that, unless I roll a double. Then Ill go with either frenzy or guard or standfirm.

Be different - take kick!

Or just Piling On to do even more damage.

Well I was thinking more of dodging "into" something than away from a player but it is ok!

Doubles go Dodge... nothing is more fun than Blodging Big Guys... the opponent must waste half his team to get a tackler a 2d block (unless a lot of your league Big Guys have Tackle, then go traditional) against a Troll, easier just to ignore him... and with his own Tackle people will burn Rerolls occasionally to get away from a guy they can't take down.
If you do get Dodge, get Break Tackle next, for a Cagebreaking Troll :).

If you go traditional, Frenzy or Stand Firm are the best choices on doubles as others have stated, and Multiple Block on regular skills.

I would go for break tackle on normal roll and guard on doubles. Off course it depends on how you use a Troll. I basically use them to stand in the way of the oppostion, no more no less, as they are too useless to make any key plays you depend on to score or stop a TD.

Guard on a ST5 is hard to remove from the equation, so it's the ideal get-in-the-way skill. I like break tackle on big guys because it gives you the mobility they otherwise lack. Without BT all it takes is an unskilled lineorc next to him and he'll be stuck in 1 spot all game.
