Entering a runing league. What team should I take???

Hi, after playing some tournaments I want to enter a runing league.

There are 10 teams (Undead, Chaos, Pro Elves, Dark Elves, Skaven, Human, Norse, Ogre, Lizards and Orks)

So next Time they want to play their second season and I want to know which team I should use, so that I won't be smashed in the begining of each game.

Normaly my favourtits are Elven teams (God bless AG 4), but I think that elves won't life long enough to have much fun.

You can see that there is no drawen team in the league. Also the stunties are very though. It would be a good choice to take a team of short legged fellows (or perhaps their dark brothers).
But I don't have much experiance playing such teams. So please help me.

Which team should I take and what starting lineup?

Darkelves will be good.

With their AV of 8 they have a better chance to survive.
And as you mentioned that you like playing high Ag teams it will be the right choice.

First of all see if you can get any discount on your new team:
more starting money
extra spp to distribute
since you are joining an experiensed league you could negotiate such benefits.
Dwarfs are touch, but their initial lack of guard makes for a dreadfull begining.
They will be outrunned and outblocked by nearly any opponent.
Chaos dwarves are better or as Kithor suggests dark elves.

I'd try Undead or maybe Lizards, but I don't think Dark Elfs would be a poor choice either. You need a 3 RR start though, to be able to dodge away properly.

i just entered a lizzie team into a league that had four teams that were in their second season, and they are beating all but one of them. at the moment they are second and i expect them to challange for first sooner rather than later.

i had the luxury of being able to play four pre-lims and distibute 25spps across my team to give them a better start. i gave all of my 25spps to my saurus (3 got block, 3 got break tackle). i left the skinks to get their spps from touchdowns as they should get 2 or 3 per game.

so lizzies would not be a bad chioce at all, as they will be able to hold their own against more or less any team. hope this helps a little,

phil

High Elves wouldn't be bad either. Almost the same as dark elves

Thanks for the comments :D

If talked to the other leaguemembers and we come to the conclusion that we don't want a race twice! So the dark guys from naggaroth are no choise any longer.

I think that shortlegged guys well be my choise. Both, Dwarfs and Cdwarfs, seem very though to me, exept these greenskinny Hobgobblingits, but therefore the CD's have the choice of Bulls and Minos.

This quit difficult. :-?

if you were keen on DE I dont see why not consider the High elves as someone said above... no witches, but you have to love those catchers. and it's still an AV8 team

I think the main thing is to take what you enjoy and hopefully have models for.

Having said that, if I had the option of a team that is not already taken, I would go for dwarves first. Rock hard and a lot of starting skills. Should hopefully be able to withstand and survive the beater teams, and tackle all the elf teams!!
