Khemri or Elf
I am just about to start a new league at my local store. The season is scheduled, so folks can not avoid playing me, and teams from this season will carry over to next. The season is 8 weeks long, with a pro bowl, and 3 weeks of playoffs.
The two teams I am considering are:
The Shifting Isles Sirens, Elf
4 Catchers
7 Line Elfs
2 RR
8 FF
The Syene Sungods, Khemri
4 Mummies
7 Skeletons
4 RRs (might drop an RR for a blitz ra)
7 FF (might exchange some FF for back up Skeletons, but figure the High FF will allow me to take Ramtut almost every game from about game 4 on, after I get the rest of my skeles. Not getting any Blitz or throw ras, I have found on fumbbl with the 4 rrs they are really not needed).
Thoughts

Especially since you will damage a lot of teams badly, having 1 FF to ensure your opponent doesn't get enough cash for replacements.Alesdair wrote:man are your opponents going to hate you, with only one fan.
In an open league people would avoid you like the plague.

Hey that give me a good idea!Khemri elf? Can't go wrong with the Khemri elves!

Undead Elf team is much needed!
Also to the OG Poster:
I would have went with the (Pro) Elf team. In such a short season the Elf team will develop alot faster. I would also take 2 Bltizers on that team so you have a chance against a blocky team. The Khemri are Great but take along time to get going. Sure you get to be bashy, but ball handling just does'nt happen on that team unless you get really lucky and roll and AG^ for your first throw-ra skill.

Well I lost game one in a close one, 2-0 but the second TD was a fluke play that he just got lucky with on turn 8 of the second half. They were elves what do you expect? On the bright side, I killed one elf, broke anothers ankle, and gave a third a concussion. One more tripped and badly hurt himself. Since it was a division game, I feel I did enough damage to slow him down quite a bit for the rest of the season, especially considering his next two games are vs Norse. He he. Next week I face a new player using orcs. Might be tough, but his list is not very good so I think I can take him easily. We shall see.

We have a short season, but teams are carrying over to next season. The Khemri are a long term investment for me. I do not plan on winning this season, just killing off enough super stars so they do not out pace me by next year.omnimutant wrote:Also to the OG Poster:Khemri elf? Well, better have a high FF and 1 RR less, and considering kick-off results you might even net more RRs (by winning kick-off rolls and denying RRs to your opponent by that) then you lose by that. Not to mention that there are, though uncommon, other FF-influenced kick-off results on top of Cheering Fans. That extra casuality by a thrown rock might come in handy!

Well it is already done. Was going on the advice I got here and in fumbbl chat so what it is it is. No need to get angry about it. Sheesh.
It was still pretty darn fun to play even though I had trouble with the ball. 6 attempts to pick up failed but heck, it was 3 and 3 rrs, sure hands would not have helped me anyways. Might pick up a throw ra soon, we shall see. So far I feel I am doing ok. Don't really expect to be competing for the championship this season. Never really do, just want a little payback after playing elfs so much and getting squished. He he. My turn to do some squishing.
