Orc Thrower: +MA or Accurate?

My orc's team only thrower rolled for his first skill improvement a MA-increase. I decided to give him accurate instead, as I want to have a passing option in my team and also utilize Goblins.

Having noticed others argue that MA6 is much more versatile for an orc thrower, I'll possibly rethink my decision. But I'm afraid that he will need a long time for his second skill and then won't develop further, turning him into a mediocore thrower. I was rather thinking of giving one Blitzer Sure Hands as his first skill and turn him into a runner, so I wouldn't need a MA thrower anyway.

What do you think?

I'd go for accurate over the +MA.

Ma6 is better because you can pick up accurate for his next skill. With having sure hands and pass the likelyhood of picking up the ball is good, and its a good possibility he will get it to his man.

It is a pretty big back field. MA 5 is good but 6 gets you to the ball easier. Plus then pick up with sure hands, and next turn you have your completion.

MA6 comes along a lot less then a normal skill roll.

But thats just how I feel

BTW if it was double 5's give him strong arm, or MA+1. Either of those.

Should have take the +1 MV. Especially since you have only one thrower. With MV 6, he could have covered the backfield on his own. Plus, it is very useful for that last dash to the endzone, as I'm sure he ends up as the ballcarrier in the centre of your cage. Accurate is a normal skill, so you could have picked that up next.

+MA is better. That one extra square means that he can keep up with goblins & blitzers better - and provide much better coverage of the back field - and get to the LOS that much more easily.

The thing with most skills is that they give a big improvement often (you notice when accurate means you made a pass). +MA doesn't - its a small improvement all the time.

I had the same thing, +MA on his first skill roll. I took the MA. It took him 3 games to get his first skill and then 3 more games to get his 2nd and I took accurate on that one. It makes it a lot nicer being able to get to the ball and throw it all on the same turn. Plus, if you choose to have him score, you don't have to slow down the blitzers that are protecting him.

no doubt, +MA. Biggest weakness on the orc thrower is his low MA IMHO. MA 6 reduces passing ranges, makes it easier to get to the ball and makes sure he can keep up with the blitzers.

MA for me too...opens a whole host of possibilities. Will probably end up getting him skilled up faster than accurate would.

Also a real great advantage about +1 MA is that it will be easier for the Thrower to get a quick Pass with MA 6. So take it and Accurate next.
