hi!
I just started a league (10 games and then finals) with my human team.
4 blitzers
5 linemen
1 thrower
1 catcher
3 rerols
9 FF
after 1st game against undead (4-0 to me) my thrower and catcher advanced (i gave them accurate and block)... I also managed to buy an apothecary. other teams in tournament are: dark elves, undead, necromantic, dwarves and orcs.
but my questions are:
which players to buy later?
should i go for 4 catchers?
how the human game looks like after 8 or so games?
when to buy ogre?
which skill to give to linemen on double?
well, that's all

Depending on the situation I will probably buy a reserve lino (you're in a basy league) and then save for the Ogre.
After 8 games your team should be pretty solid. I think this is where the human team is best, you will have a fair few guard on the blitzers and the throwers and catchers will be skilled up enough to have a reliable passing game.
As for linemen, give them gaurd on doubles!

guard for a linemen with double
u can check my team in my sig, 12 matches, i've only lost one player, an ag4 linemen, but soon 2 more will be kicked.
an ogre will not be a star player, but he sure gives respect. Save your money next match, and hopefully u can afford him next time.
You also need one more catcher, they sure is fast.

Hm...looking fine 2 me. Maybe go for a second catcher, but a Lino is maybe a better choice looking at the other Teams with a lot of destruction power. Looking at your opponents the Ogre will be very usefull so if you get 50 gold next game buy a Lino, if you get 70+ wait one more match and go for the Ogre.

I always prefer to have a 3rd ST2 player since bashy teams will, often successfully (there's only so far you can run), try to hunt them down and kick them. A second catcher on the pitch divides your opponents attention and gives you more tactical options, but will possibly need to be replaced.
Oh, and a 4th RR is another priority. Humans rely on these since they're quite average.

And what do you think on taking 4 catchers when in offence?

On offense I usually field 2, depending on reserves. They are handy to use as Gutter Runners, to put pressure on the ball carrier, especially if they have block. I would not field too many, as they lack STR.
A kicker is also very handy, makes pressurizing the ball sooo much easier on defense.

4 catchers on offence is perhaps overkill. I have used 3, but usually prefer 2. Their speed really is a threat though.

Especially in combo with a lineman with 'kick'.
Sorry to seem repititive... ; )

Never used more than 3. 4 on offence + 4 blitzers leaves 3 position open 2 throwers and an ogre? I have considered this, but it would mean putting your blitzers on the line. Which, if they have guard may not be a bad idea. Its an all-or-nothing tactic though. A sort of final push for that all important TD in the last 2 turns of the half. But with AG3 the catchers will have their work cut out to break through the opponent's defencive line.

You could do that.
When fielding 3 catchers I would place 2 on the sides, together with 2 blitzers. Leave a catcher in the middle behind the LOS. LOS could be manned with preferably guard-linemen, else guard-blitzers.
On defense I never field 2 throwers, 1 at most. With pass block and catch the catchers can also be average interceptors.
